For this assignment, the target compound that you should synthesize is 3,3-dimethyl-1,2-epoxybutane.

Reaction 1For this assignment, the target compound that you should synthesize is 3,3-dimethyl-1,2-epoxybutane. Again, this isan electrophilic alkene addition reaction. Examine the product to determine the location of the new functionality. The alkene is the electron-rich partner, and an electrophilic reagent is needed.Synthesis Procedures1. Start Virtual Chemlab and select Epoxiation – 1 from the list of assignments on the whiteboard. After enteringthe synthesis laboratory, use the available reagents on the stockroom shelf, identify the appropriate startingmaterials required to synthesize the target compound and add them to the round bottom flask. Now add ether(Et:O) as a solvent and drag the flask to the Stir Plate on the lab bench.2. The round bottom flask containing the starting materials should now be on the stir plate, and the contents of theflask should be visible on the chalkboard. From the group of reagents found on the lab bench, select the correctreagent to synthesize the target compound and add it to the flask on the stir plate. Now attach the heater, condenser, and Na gas to the round bottom flask so the reaction mixture can be heated.3. Start the reaction by clicking on the Stir button on the front of the stir plate. You should be able to observe thereaction mixture stirring in the flask. Monitor the progress of the reaction using TLC measurements as necessaryuntil the product has formed and the starting materials have been consumed. You can advance the laboratorytime using the clock on the wall. With the electronic lab book open (click on the lab book on the stockroomcounter), you can also save your TLC plates by clicking Save on the TLC window.. When the reaction is complete, “work up” your reaction by first dragging and dropping the separatory funnel onthe flask and then adding NaOH to the funnel. Extract the organic layer in the funnel by clicking on the top layerand dragging it to the cork ring on the lab bench. Your target compound should now be in this flask.List thestarting materials 3.3-dimethyl-1-buteneSolvent ether (Et20)reagent(s) MCPBAproducts formed: 3,3-dimethyl-1,2-epoxybutaneHow long did it take to finish the reaction? 3 hours and 3 minutesWhat are the TLC values (R/) for (a) Starting Materials: 0.17(b) Products: none

submit a 1500 words paper on the topic Building evaluation for property.

Hi, need to submit a 1500 words paper on the topic Building evaluation for property. After the establishment and development of the housing schemes, then comes a major process of its sustainability and maintenance works. To understand and improve the lifespan of these houses we must look into the defects and their causes which affect the quality of these structures. Consequently we have to resolve these faults using alternative construction methods or usage of substitute materials. The majority of the problems occur in two phases of the constructions of the facilities which are the planning or design phase and the other is faulty construction. 1.2 Common residential building faults and causes According to the research made by Building Research Establishment(BRE) and in its report suggested the major faults which occur in the key building elements. The top five places of faults in the structure are external walls with a fault attribution percentage of 20%, second comes the Roofs with 19%, then windows and doors contributes 13% of the faults, then floors 11% and services 9%. Where as Sub-structure, Planning and layout and Internal partitions come down the list. Later according to same BRE Advisory Service (Trotman P) and based on its database of building defects its came to a conclusion that the five major building faults are Rain penetration with a magnitude of 22%, then comes Condensation with 17%, Cracking 16%, Detachment 13% and lastly Entrapped water with 6%. Whereas Flooring, Appearance/discolouration/surface defects and Rising damp are also included in the list. All the above data is being collected and analyzed by the building research establishment and the ministry of housing of Australian government. 1.3 Solutions to the major issues As mentioned earlier that the issues arise by certain processes and at particular points in the structure, mentioned as the “key building elements”. Now any approach to remedy these issues would be directly in accordance with the working and durability of these key building elements. As mentioned before the worst process that damages the building is the water or rain penetration, now the source can be any place where water gathers these areas mainly includes Roof, buried/concealed pipes, external walls, windows, bathrooms, kitchens and many other places( common drains, underground drains, etc). This discussion will also cover the entrapment of water as well, which is also considered to be a defect of large impact. The next target is the solution of the problem, which can be done by mainly two activities prevention from water leakage and effective drainage system. The first element we will cover is the roof, where firstly drainage is of vital importance which must be acquired by good workman ship in which a suitable gradient must be provided, appropriate type and adequate thickness of waterproofing material, overlapping of material at joints, upturn from boundary walls and downturn towards the drains. Then comes the next key element the external wall where the source of defect are at sleeves, deep cracks, honey comb, holes due to sub standard concrete and faulty construction. Where as the solutions are filling the cracks with chemical injections and replacing with new water proofing mortar where unavoidable.

Need help with my writing homework on PHIN Report. Write a 750 word paper answering; Recent Health Issues in US: The Role of PHIN in Health Management Institute Recent Health Issues in US: The Role of PHIN in Health Management Introduction The health issues in US are growing for quite a while and therefore they are getting much more attention in the world of academia. However the problems in public healthcare are multifactor and complex. But the major issue resides with the inability of US health care system to provide equal medical treatment to all of the public. Recently many of the operational health facilities have been partially or completely privatized which turned the holy practice of medicine into a ruthless business. The business of healthcare has been driven by the motive of making a profit that is reportedly causing the medical facilities to focus on those patients who can pay more against healthcare service. The fundamental purpose of this study is to conduct research on the causes of skin diseases that are noticeably grown in the country with the special reference to the role of PHIN in controlling and managing the epidermal illnesses. Nevertheless, global warming and cracks in the ozone layer are causing the skin diseases to irrupt in the world. In developed nations, governments are taking solid and concrete steps towards preventing the diseases. Literature Review According to Thacker, Stroup, Parrish, & Anderson, (1996) the local and federal healthcare departments have a primary job of maintaining good to excellent level of public health. But, in recent years the ability of governmental healthcare units to manage health problems became limited due to this reason health standards are deforming. Additionally the spread of skin disease is noted to be more intensive in adolescents and youngsters. In the view of Schieber & Poullier, (1991) the analysis of the expenditure patterns of substantial amount of health organizations working under Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) found that the budgets of these healthcare organizations are significantly increasing over the past few years. Yet, these efforts have proven partially effective in completely controlling several diseases. McGlynn, et al., (2003) on the other hand, found that youth in America is not getting the ideal health care and therefore several kinds of illnesses are currently prevailing among them. However the Public Health Information Network has been developed in order to create an integrative management information system that is supposed to develop a patients’ database, accessible to every medical facility in the US, so that the physician can access patients’ records of prior treatments and other related information, when they come in for the treatment The role of Public Health Information Network remained imperative in treating the skin diseases in the US. The system assisted doctors in knowing about previous treatments and allergies that caused the probability of a patient to experience allergy or mistreatment to minimize. But, the development of PHIN is not an ultimate solution of the problem because humanity should dedicate its efforts towards minimizing global warming and ozone tearing to stop skin diseases from spreading. Furthermore if these steps are not taken immediately then skin illnesses will grow rapidly and the PHIN will not be able to manage the outbreak. Medical facilities will also face problems in coping with ever-growing number of patients with skin problems in the future. Findings This research effort finds that US is indeed facing health problems that are growing out of the proportion. The most significantly growing diseases include the ones related to skin such epidermal cancer and allergies. PHIN has blessed physicians with the luxury of having all the relevant information about prior treatments a patient has gone through. The research also has added thst humanity must combine its forces to fight global warming before these skin diseases become simply unmanageable. Conclusion The growing healthcare expenditures are in reality pointing to the fact that developed nations are more concerned about public health than under-developed ones. But, these increases in healthcare funds are not sufficient for providing effective medical services to the youth in US. Along with this, Public Health Information Network is helping doctors in treating patients more successfully. But the need of global health information network is being emphasized by many scholars. It is also duly noted that health services should be provided on the basis of equility whereas transformation of medical into a business should be prevented as soon as possible. Finally the healthcare system of West is far more better than the South. Still things can be improved with the help of conducting operational research in order to improve existing systems and mechanisms that are devoted towards providing healthcare services around the world. I will pay for the following article Week 2 discussion board. The work is to be 1 page with three to five sources, with in-text citations and a reference page. Brain and Soul: Partners in Shaping Human Behaviors September 15, Brain and Soul: Partners in Shaping Human Behaviors The human brain alone is not enough to explain the whole range of human behaviors. I think that humans have souls that embody the non-physical brain and heart of the body, in terms of how these souls shape feelings and actions. Souls essentially affect how people think about and act on what is right and wrong. The brain affects behavior because it controls the nerve cells that shape human thoughts, functions, and feelings that influence behavior, but I also believe that a non-physical soul guides behavior that involve ethics and morality through shaping the brain’s activities too.

On the one hand, the brain shapes human behavior because it controls the physical aspects of it through the nerve cells or neurons, while, on the other hand, the human soul affects behavior that concerns making ethical and moral decisions. The brain controls the neurons that transmit neurotransmitters. In Chapter 2 of Experience Psychology, King (2013) described several neurotransmitters and their roles in people’s learning, emotions, actions, and other daily functions. Her main point is that the brain affects behaviors through the physical actions of these neurotransmitters that reflect on what people think, feel, and do. The human brain, however, is not the only one working when people make important decisions because the soul helps it make them. Galatians 5:22-23 showcases the effect of the soul on human feelings, attitudes, and actions: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” The Bible asserts that the human soul has a large role to play in humanity’s goodness, goodness that reflects in their values and actions. I believe that the brain guides daily bodily functions and behaviors, but when it comes to moral and ethical decisions, the soul works on the brain too in shaping human behaviors.

Both the brain and human soul are concerned in shaping human behaviors, especially when people face moral or ethical decisions. The brain controls the neurons that actually affect what people do, feel, and think about. However, it is the soul that impacts the brain when people need to make decisions that revolve around rightness and wrongness. The brain and the soul are then separate but different entities though, as partners, they both affect what people do with their lives.
