Based on an interview with Nathan’s mother, I will relate the different Piaget’s tasks and stages of development through which Nathan has gone through to determine his mental, physical and spiritual development. In the end, the paper will also compare the findings of the interview with the literature available on child development to find any evidence of affirmation and disaffirmation.Piaget’s proposed the Cognitive Development Theory of Early Childhood Experience through the basic idea that the child constructs his own knowledge, the child learns many things without the help of others and the child is inherently motivated to learn new things from the environment.

In his theory, Piaget used four concepts, namely: schemata, adaptation, assimilation, and accommodation to understand the development stages of the child (Berk, 2010).The first stage Schemata are the mental concepts that the child uses to understand. The second stage, Adaptation is the process in which the child mentally organizes the information received from the environment. The third stage Assimilation is the process of grasping new information as well as adding that information to the already stored knowledge.

The fourth stage Accommodation is adjusting all the information through which the child can later build thoughts and build internal structures. This theory includes four stages the child passes through. The stages are: the sensorimotor stage (birth- 2 years), the preoperational stage (2 – 7 years), the concrete operational stage (7 – 12 years), and the formal operational stage (12 – onwards). The stages start at the age of birth until the age of a fully matured person (Fischer, 1980).

The sensorimotor stage starts at the beginning of childhood till age 2. During this stage, the child tries to develop a sense of the environment. The child uses his&nbsp.sensory-motor skills to think about what the outside environment is. The child’s behavior has some common skills like looking, grasping, and listening. According to Jean Piaget, in the stage of sensorimotor, object permanence is a very important accomplishment. The child understands that the things are present even though they are not present and this understanding of the child is known as object permanence.

Innovation into new “product design,” product reengineering, “product innovation,” and new operational procedures for cost-effectiveness are some of the strategies to competitive advantages that the organizational structure aids (Lamb, Hair, and McDaniel 41). Development of models for product differentiation and niche definition are other positive effects of the innovative environment, which the organizational structure facilitates, and aids competitive advantage.

One of the most outstanding achievements of public health is the prevention, cure, and control of infectious diseases, improved sanitation, and reduced incidences of cholera, typhoid, tuberculosis, and sexually transmitted diseases (Novick, Morrow, & Mays, 2008). All these public health components are accounted for by the fifth great public health achievement in the textbook. This achievement has gone a long way in transforming the face of the contemporary society. Preventative and curative measures are in place to manage, control, and oversee public health development. On the same note, improved sanitation translates to a better quality of life. When the society leads a healthy life, there is less likelihood of public health crisis. This achievement, therefore, averts public health crisis by empowering the society to take control of its welfare.

In conclusion, the above achievement is great because it accounts for the most basic components of a healthy society. Food, water, and shelter are influential as far as public health is concerned. With improved sanitation and reduced disease incidences in society, people’s overall lifestyles exhibit high-quality practices. This is undoubtedly a great achievement in the public health domain.

Blair, being conscious in maintaining the balance between transatlantic alliance and EU possesses the view that conflict is created on the basis of a misunderstanding. At times he has declared that the class struggle was over and that the formation of the Labor Party through a break with the Liberals was a mistake. But the conflict of interests between the US and Europe cannot be overcome so easily. Blair recognizes that the Europeans, however tentatively, are seeking to challenge US domination through the EU project.
