Stem Cell Research: Ethical, Moral and Legal Dilemma. The work is to be 9 pages with three to five sources, with in-text citations and a reference page.

I will pay for the following article Stem Cell Research: Ethical, Moral and Legal Dilemma. The work is to be 9 pages with three to five sources, with in-text citations and a reference page. It is impossible to reconcile these positions due to distinctly opposing views inherent in medical science versus varying views and interpretations of ethics and morality.

A typical day-5 human embryo consists of 200-250 cells, most of which comprise the trophoblast, which is the outermost layer of the blastocyst. HESCs are harvested from the inner cell mass of the blastocyst, which consists of 30-34 cells. The derivation of HESC cultures requires the removal of the trophoblast. This process of disaggregating the cells of the blastocyst eliminates its potential for further development. Opponents of HESC research argue that the research is morally impermissible because it involves the unjust killing of innocent human beings. (Siegel par. 2).

Moral and ethical debates have raged since the idea of stem cell research first crossed scientists’ minds. One simplistic argument against opposition to the research centers upon abortion fetuses from which many of the cells are gathered. The moral rationale is that in the event of abortion at least some good for the whole of humanity can come of it. Reading into this position, one can make a case that the apologist he or she is admitting abortion is unethical, highlighting the complexity of the argument. Besides, they might say, research cannot be done on adult stem cells because they don’t share the same aspects as those from an embryo. The good of the research outweighs the bad of the methods. The end justifies the means since embryonic stem cell research can help find cures for, or prevent diseases including cancer and Parkinson’s but also Alzheimer’s, Heart disease, Stroke, Diabetes, birth defects, spinal cord injuries, organ damage, and transplant rejection. Medical researchers insist embryonic stem cells are needed because they alone are able to reproduce any other cell in the body, thus helping researchers gather more accurate information about how the development can affect various conditions.

Create a 1 page page paper that discusses remote environment (strategic management).

Create a 1 page page paper that discusses remote environment (strategic management). Remote Environment Remote Environment The remote environmental factor that has the most significance in strategy related decision making is the technological factor. The technological factor is the most important factor because it has a direct impact on an organizations ability to compete with its competitors (Moehrle, 2013). Technological advancements provide organizations with the ability to produce goods and services at lower cost and organizations that are able to be the first to adopt technological changes are able to secure higher profits and stay in the business. Since technological changes occur at a faster pace as compared to other factors, an organization needs to keep an eye on this factor while devising its strategy. Forces that impact the dynamics of a particular industry includes the ease with which new firms can enter an industry, the bargaining power of both the suppliers as well as the customers, the availability of different substitutes within a particular industry and the intensity of competition between different firms operating in a particular industry (Porter, 2008). The enterprise competitive position helps in identifying the level of competition that is taking place in the environment in which an organization is operating. Customer profile helps an organization in identifying the needs and wants of the customers to which the organization is responding to or will be responding (Hill, 2012). The characteristic of availability of human resources helps in identifying the characteristics of the employees that are working in an industry (Enz, 2010). It even helps in identifying what the human resources perceive about a company and the ease with which these human resources can be obtained.

Write a 5 pages paper on major depression and antidepressant treatment.

Write a 5 pages paper on major depression and antidepressant treatment. Clinical psychologists find themselves treating major depression as a very common illness hence it is important for them to have a thorough understanding of this mental illness in order to reach a correct diagnosis (Thomas 2010). The clinical picture of the condition, diagnostic challenges, diagnostic tools, effective treatments, and recent developments regarding major depression will be elaborated in the paper.

According to the DSM-IV-TR criterion, the disorders of mood are broadly classified into “Depressive Disorders, Bipolar Disorders, and Mood Disorder due to a general medical condition and Substance-Induced Mood disorder”. The depressive disorders are further classified into “Major Depressive Disorder, Dysthymic Disorder and Depressive Disorder not otherwise specified”. Depressive disorders are differentiated from bipolar disorders on the basis of important historical findings. The absence of any Manic, Mixed, or Hypomanic episode classifies the mood disorder as a depressive disorder (American Psychiatric Association 2000).

A single event of depression without any occurrence of mania i.e. euphoric period, behavioral excess, or events of the display of excessive energy is termed as MDD. The major depressive episode is characterized by depressed mood or anhedonia (no interest in daily activities) for almost the whole day and these symptoms extend for at least two weeks. It is important to mention here that the severity of the symptoms should be enough to cause hindrance in the affected individual’s usual social and occupational activities. The severity of the symptoms is described on the basis of the extent to which they cause disability. A mild degree is characterized by the ability of the person to carry out his/her daily responsibilities. A moderate degree is described by the inability of the person to take interest or perform his/her obligations and the severe form of MDD is when the individual starts thinking of death or exhibits psychotic behavior or completely isolates himself/herself. An individual is diagnosed with chronic MDD when the symptoms prevail for more than 2 years (Thomas 2010).

1) Looking at Statistics The internet is host to a wealth of information and much of that information comes from raw data that have been collected or observed. Many websites summarize such data using graphical methods discussed in this chapter. Find a website related to your major ( psychology) that summarizes data and uses graphs, and share it with the class. Let us know how it relates to your major and why it is of interest to you. 2) How Can you Use Statistics An understanding of statistics is necessary in any job. The use of statistics can help provide answers to many questions. Please, post a question you think that statistics may help you answer and explain why statistics can help provide an accurate answer. Read several of your classmates’ postings. Do you agree that statistics are necessary to answer their questions? Is their question one that you would also like to have an answer to? Why or why not?
