This assignment contains three parts, as identified and described below. Please complete each part with a combined essay of 950-1,700 words.

Part 1: Write a 300-700-word scenario that involves a client that you believe requires a risk assessment.

Part 2: Write a 150-250-word summary, discussing specific behaviors that lead you to create a risk assessment.

Part 3: Write a 500-750-word summary, discussing how you would assess the client. Include the following in your discussion:

Compose a post of one to two paragraphs. Reference scholarly or peer-reviewed sources to support your discussion points, using APA format.

In the paper, I want you to analyze your childhood in light of the motivation theories we’ve discussed throughout the quarter, from the biological motivations up through goal motivation, which will be the topic just before the paper is due. How did your parents and others around you motivate you, and how did you motivate yourself? How did those motivations change as you got older? What motivated you to make both good and bad choices in your lives? You should organize the paper both chronologically and by type of motivation. So you should start with very early childhood, from preschool through early school years, then move on to late childhood, then adolescence, and then adulthood. In each of these time eras, you should discuss what role reflexes, drives and biological needs, reinforcements and punishments, observational learning, need for stimulation and arousal, personality, utility, and goals played in your motivation, and how those things changed from previous eras in your life. This assignment should require about 10 double-spaced pages to complete, which is generally around 2700 words and thus meets the 2500 word requirement.

Discussion: The Legal System

Compose a post of one to two paragraphs. Reference scholarly or peer-reviewed sources to support your discussion points, using APA format.

Bottom of FormResearch has supported the idea that children and adolescents who have been involved in the legal system will have or already have developed a mental disorder precipitating or following their involvement in the legal system. What is the importance of exploring the impact of the legal system on behavioral and mental health development?

Create a table to hold the intended demographic information that will be collected in your study. Insert the completed table into the final prospectus as Appendix C.

By this point, your prospectus should be complete and should include revisions made based on feedback from your instructor. Submitting the prospectus will assist you and your instructor/chair in preparing a plan for the remainder of your dissertation phase.

General Guidelines:

Use the following information to ensure successful completion of the assignment:

· Ensure to follow the professor’s comments from your previous submission.

· Instructors will be using a grading rubric to grade the assignments. It is recommended that learners strictly follow the instructions for assignment criteria and expectations for successful completion of the assignment.

· Doctoral learners are required to use APA style for their writing assignments.

· You are required to submit this assignment to LopesWrite. Refer to the directions in the Student Success Center. Only Word documents can be submitted to LopesWrite.

Directions:

Compile all of the revisions to your prospectus into a final and complete prospectus document using the most current version of the “Prospectus Template.” This includes completing Table 1 or Table 2 (whichever is applicable to the study methodology) in Appendix B of the prospectus template.

Create a table to hold the intended demographic information that will be collected in your study. Insert the completed table into the final prospectus as Appendix C.

Verify that revisions have been made according to the instructor/chair comments and rubric as well as the “Academic Quality Review (AQR) Prospectus Review Checklist.”

COMMENTS:

Usually, we do not include the actual name of the county or state. Just say mental health services in one county located in a southern state. You need to make sure you establish that this problem exists outside of this one county in Texas. You need to include the sample in the problem, purpose and RQs. Cite the theory you are using from the seminal source, which would be Bandura or Vygotsky. I provided a problem, purpose and RQ. You need at least 2 questions. See comments.

Be sure and read about the data collection and management section criteria. What you are discussing in your answer belongs in the method and design and sources of data section. (Yes, I have the template memorized). 🙂 In the data collection section, you need to tell us each and every step that you will use to get site authorization and IRB approval, doing a field test of the interview guide, make initial contact with potential participants to share the purpose of the study and get informed consent, to collecting and preparing data for analysis. I would strongly recommend looking at other GCU dissertations. Start this section off by writing these steps off in number format… Then, remember back to when we were in school and wrote out how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich? Go through the steps yourself to see what is missing. After you get that down, then put in paragraph format. Often, as a chair, I have my learners keep this in number format (like the steps of a recipe) until we get it down pat. It is easier to provide feedback if it is numbered.

Describe how the negative or positive emotion addressed by current research affects the biological, learned, and cognitive components of goal-directed motivation.

Write a paper comparing and contrasting the research methodologies and results of at least two different studies on motivation and performance associated with a specific emotion.

Preparation

This assessment requires you to identify a topic to research and then to examine the results and methods of two studies on the selected topic. The topic must be an emotion and its effect on goal-directed motivation.

An important skill in conducting research is to narrow the focus of your topic to keep the content manageable and to facilitate finding supportive evidence. To identify a topic:

  • Select a positive or negative emotion that has an effect on goal-directed motivation, and then begin to narrow the focus of the topic.
  • Continue to narrow the focus of your topic with consideration for other relevant factors, such as age of the research subjects (adults versus children), their gender, their educational level, or other demographic or topical factors. Your goal is to identify a research topic that is appropriately narrow and can be sharply defined, and for which research is available.
  • Do some preliminary research to ensure that you have sufficient sources for your topic. You must locate at least two peer-reviewed research journal articles on your chosen topic from the Capella library. To find sources, select key words and enter them into the Summon search engine in the Capella University Library. If you do not find sufficient resources, revise the focus of your topic and try again.
  • Finally, develop a working title for your paper (for example, “The Benefits of Hope in Peak Work Performance” or “Effects of Depression on Adolescent Academic Performance”) that addresses the narrowed and manageable research topic.

After you identify a topic, select two studies to use as the focus for your paper.

Instructions

For this assessment, write a paper in which you complete the following:

  • Describe, based upon current research, the effect of a selected negative or positive emotion on goal-directed motivation.
  • Describe how the negative or positive emotion addressed by current research affects the biological, learned, and cognitive components of goal-directed motivation.
  • Compare and contrast the research methods used in the two selected studies. What is the purpose of these studies? What are the research questions to be answered by these studies? Do the research results address the research questions?
  • Identify the tools (interviews, surveys, questionnaires) and technologies (telephone, audio/videotapes, Internet) that were used in the selected studies.
  • Conclude with what you learned from this research and how it may inform or describe your personal or professional behavior in similar circumstances.
Additional Requirements

Your paper should meet the following requirements:

  • Written communication:Written communication is free of errors that detract from the overall message.
  • APA formatting: Resources and citations are formatted according to current APA guidelines for style and formatting.
  • Number of resources: At least 3 scholarly academic resources are included.
  • Length of paper: The length is a minimum of 5 typed, double-spaced pages, not including the title page and reference list.
  • Font and font size: Times New Roman, 12-point font is used.
