Any topic (writer’s choice)

The project is to generate a sales forecast for a selected industry or multi-national firm using econometric methods. Sales data should be collected from available sources of Compustat, the Bloomberg system, or Statista. In addition, you must gather information on relevant measures of prices, income, advertising data, and other relevant (socio-economic) data to support the construction of a multi-variate regression model. You must build the econometric model utilizing a software of your choice.

Results of the analysis must include (a) an executive summary of the outcomes; (b) information supporting the choice of the variables, including the socio-economic variables (model specification), (c) interpretation of the elasticities and the implication to pricing strategy; and (d) interpretation of the results with implications to business policy. Finally, the students must address limitations to their model and potential changes that would improve its performance.

For the purpose of assurance of learning, four scores will be provided. The basis for these scores are the ability to (a) provide a justification, including ethical considerations, for the model specification based on relevant theory and gather the appropriate data (MBA- 2M); (b) use Excel or other software to generate forecasted demand outcomes (MBA-1M); (c) discuss the relevant economic implications of the estimated elasticities (MBA-ECON); and (d) suggest meaningful implications that inform business policy of a multi-national firm (MBA-MGMT).

RE: Week 4 Discussion(Training and Development)

New software is being installed for the internal audit staff in an organization. Now what? In Week 4, you’ll learn why and how to conduct a needs analysis. You’ll learn about the different types of needs analyses. You’ll also learn what competencies are and why they are useful.

Based on the discussion preparation scenario, evaluate the significance of a needs analysis in terms of addressing business performance.

Please no citations or references. Only one paragraph with a QUESTION AT THE END followed by the answer.

Instructions:

In the first half of our course, we explored how the Anthropocene is widely recognized to be not only a new geological era in which humans influence global systems, but also as the culmination of ongoing, social, cultural, economic, political and environmental changes tied to the Industrial Revolution and, even earlier, plantation-based colonialism. This history produces uneven geographies of global change, in which the benefits and harms of these changes have been, and continue to be, socially and spatially uneven. For our second essay, drawing on readings, lectures and assignments throughout the term, explain how, since the mid-1700s, the concept of development has sought to manage these differentiated changes in order to secure existing power relations in the global colonial economy.  Specific questions to focus on include:

What do different visions of development (colonial, Cold War, neoliberal) identify as the threat to the status quo?
How have different styles of development (colonial, Cold War, neoliberal) sought to regulate or control this threat?
What do these histories of development tell us about the politics of development in the era of the Anthropocene? Who does development benefit, and how does it benefit these people rather than others?

Guidelines:

Essays should be a minimum of 1,000 words (two single-spaced pages, 12-point Times New Roman font, 1-inch margins). Citations should be included within the text (either as parenthetical in-text citations or as footnotes), and references should be provided in a reference list. References should be in the format of your choice, and should be consistent (my personal preference is APA-style referencing, which is more or less standard in the social sciences, but any format you are comfortable using is acceptable, as long as it is consistently used throughout your reference list).

Addiction Counseling – Theoretical treatment agency/program

Create an imaginary/factious  treatment  agency/program  addressing clientele, level of care, curriculum, assessment procedures, treatment plans, case management and counseling issues, staff issues, etc. Thereafter you will analyze the effectiveness of the treatment services. Im looking for you to base your critique on examples and opinions cited in the literature.  Follow APA formatting.

So, basically the steps are as follows:

1. Create a mock treatment facility which you think represents the norm

2.  Now, answer the questions posed in the outline about this program.

3.  FOLLOW outline form

This agency that you create can be one of what you think would represent a “realistic” agency.  One with pros and cons, strengths and weaknesses  one that represents reality to you.

Write a 6 page paper describing and analyzing the service. Organize your paper into these four sections:  I. Descriptive Information; II. Theoretical Approaches  III. Analysis of Service: IV. Implications for My Substance Use Disorder Practice. It must be organized in this fashion or it will not be graded. Each section is to be clearly labeled.

Outline for Site Visit.

I.  General Description of Service

A.  Describe the agency /program and its target population.

B.  Describe the programs level of care system and how one transfers to each level.

C.  Describe the screening, assessment intervention, discharge process. What are the time frames, assessments, primary intervention modalities case management. process group, education group?

II. Theoretical Approaches

A.  Discuss the prominent theories/models that underlie the service provided. Moral

Model, Medical – Disease Model Learning Theory,  Psychoanalytic Theory. Ecological

Perspective, Family Theory, Bio Psycho Social Theory

III. Critical Analysis of the Quality of Treatment Service: Analyze the effectiveness of the service based on the needs of the target population by critically describing 4 things in the program is doing effectively and 4 things the program needs some improvement. A list of some ideas…

* Intake: Is there treatment on demand or is there a long waiting list?

* Orientation: is there a thorough welcoming orientation?

Urinal Analysis (UA): Does the program conduct U.AS? Is this the major tool! used to monitor AOD use? What are the consequences if a client gets a positive urine screen?

What education is offered?  What part of the program is the most important for the

Clients to learn? Is relapse prevention being offered early in treatment or is it offered just prior to discharge?

* Cultural Competence: Is the program adequately accounting for the cultural diversity of its clients (gender, race, sexual orientation, class, age disability, etc).Did they speak the language of the clients they served?

* Dual Diagnosis Disorders: Is the program adequately addressing dual disorders? Is pharmacotherapy available?

* Family /Significant Others: Does the program have an avenue for other parties to get involved? Are there family groups, or private family sessions? What about the children?

*Case management: Does the program provide case management?

*Ancillary Services: Some populations need services in addition to drug/alcohol (such as transportation/housing, childcare, food vocational legal help). Are these provided?

*Outcome Studies: How does the program measure successful treatment outcomes? Does the program provide a follow up interview (six months after discharge) as a way to evaluate the program or study outcomes.

*Strength Based Practice: Did the agency provide a positive atmosphere? Were the counselors genuinely friendly? Was the agency client-centered?

IV. Implication for My Substance Use Disorder Practice: based on what you learned in the process of this paper, what skills or information do you need to improve the quality of your work with AOD clients?
