Then, submit your research paper thesis statement topic and outline. You need to identify a research topic you are willing to invest time in learning about. This topic must relate directly to the course description and objectives. Describe your research paper outline. This assignment is more than just a listing of sub-headings. Include at least 50 words per section title so we can understand the scope and depth of what you are thinking about or have found in any readings. This assignment should be about two pages in length, plus the title and reference page.

Write an outline of your research topic paper. This outline can follow the following format (Narrative in format) as far as section headings. But you do not have to follow it. Scholarly Activities

Throughout the RN-to-BSN program, students are required to participate in scholarly activities outside of clinical practice or professional practice. Examples of scholarly activities include attending conferences, seminars, journal club, grand rounds, morbidity and mortality meetings, interdisciplinary committees, quality improvement committees, and any other opportunities available at your site, within your community, or nationally.

You are required to post at least one documented scholarly activity by the end of this course. In addition to this submission, you are required to be involved and contribute to interdisciplinary initiatives on a regular basis.

Submit, by way of this assignment, a summary report of the scholarly activity, including who, what, where, when, and any relevant take-home points. Include the appropriate program competencies associated with the scholarly activity as well as future professional goals related to this activity. You may use the “Scholarly Activity Summary” resource to help guide this assignment.

While APA style is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and in-text citations and references should be presented using APA documentation guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.

APA style is not required, but solid academic writing is expected.

2 Prompts (OPs select one)

1) How can analyzing “moral” concerns about sex and sexuality reveal the operations of various power structures such as cisheteropatriarchy? How do ideas about what is good/natural about sexuality and gender relate specifically to the family? How do ideas about the “ideal” or “normal” family relate to race, sexuality, patriarchy, ability, class, etc.? How can analyzing the “history of sexuality” help us to understand those ideas as socially constructed? How can queer theory and sex liberation help us to unpack what we have taken for granted as “normal” or “natural”?

2) How has your understanding of sex, gender, and sexuality changed in the last two weeks? Did Serano’s “intrinsic inclinations” model of gender and sexuality — which accounts for both the external environmental factors and one’s internal feelings — correspond with, or differ from, the beliefs you previously held about gender and sexuality? Can you explain, in your own words, the distinctions between gender identity, gender expression/performance, and sexual orientation? Do you think we’ve left anything important out of our discussions of LGBTQ issues that still needs to be included?

In 400-500 words (include word count) you will thoroughly answer one of the discussion prompts provided for the week. In order to gain full points for your post, you need to:

Cite specific examples or quotes from at least 3 different readings from the week; include appropriate in-text citations (author last name and page number/timestamp)
Cite specific examples or quotes from at least 1 lecture from the week; include appropriate in-text citations (last name and timestamp)
In your own words, define one of the key terms I list on the discussion board for the week. Please UNDERLINE it so your peer reviewers can evaluate your definition.

Why humans crave adrenaline. For this final essay you will conceive of an audience and a goal.

In our final unit, we will use the research from our Unit III annotated bibliography assignment to write our final essays.

Take heart class! You have done the research and have become authorities on your topics (at least more than you might have been 15 weeks ago). Indeed, your research and your works cited page are finished (you are allowed to add sources and annotations if you decide that you need more research than you had in Unit III, but otherwise, your research and works cited are already finished!).

For this final essay you will conceive of an audience and a goal as described in-depth here Slide Show Lecture: Unit IV and here in the Unit IV: Discussion I: Audience Description.  Follow these links and read through the discussion description which will help you generate an audience and goal for this final essay.

Once you have a firm grasp of what you will argue and to and for whom you will write, the final step will simply involve writing the essay.  You will be posting a half-length rough draft (minimum 500-750 words) as an attachment here in the Unit IV: Discussion II: Rough Draft. There you will receive some feedback from me to help you further refine your concepts of audience and goal as you move towards the final draft.
