Topic can be on a world religion and its socio-cultural impacts or on a more general topic dealing with the culture impacts of influences of religion on American or other societies.

8-10 pages, double space preferred, cover page, bibliography, please use at least 3 academic sources other than lectures or your textbook. Topic can be on a world religion and its socio-cultural impacts or on a more general topic dealing with the culture impacts of influences of religion on American or other societies. It could be on a past society, culture, or civilization, like say The Vikings. For example: “Shinto and its impact on Japanese involvement in WW II” or “Religion and its influences on U.S. politics”. Referencing format for citations can be APA, MLA, etc. not picky about this, but make sure citations are clear and consistent.

You are not just writing your paper on a world religion or religious movement; given the focus of our course, what I want you to go into further detail is how it inter-relates with the society or culture in which it is found. Alternatively, you could do a more abstract topic on how religion (generally) influences a particular social or cultural aspect or institution, in which case you might be dealing with several religions or sects.

INSTRUCTIONS
Write an essay of 2,400 words based on two of the following questions:
QUESTION 1
Alice applied for a job with Marketing Services Ltd. She was interviewed, as also was Tom, who has similar qualifications and experience to her. Tom was given the job. Alice discovered that the
marketing department to which Tom was appointed, has only male employees. Alice is now arguing that she is a victim of sex discrimination.
Rose is employed in the personnel department. Harry, who also works in the department, has been with the company for the same length of time as Rose, but his pay is now one third higher, even
though they work the same hours. Rose has discovered this, and is arguing that she is entitled to the same pay.
Eva works as a secretary in the secretarial department. She has recently discovered that she only earns half the pay that Jack, who is a marketing assistant, earns in the marketing department. Eva
has a similar level of qualifications and experience. She is arguing that she is entitled to the same pay as Jack.
Amy, who works part-time in the personnel department has discovered that she cannot join the company pension scheme, which is only available to full-time employees. She has also found out that most
of the company’s part-time employees are female, and is arguing that she is a victim of sex discrimination.
Advise Alice, Rose, Eva and Amy on the basis whereby EU law on sex discrimination (Art 157 TFEU and Directive 2006/54) can be argued to the above events and critically assess whether each could be
successful in actions against the company for sex discrimination
QUESTION 3
Critically discuss the ways in which undertakings acting together can restrict or distort competition, and also how EU Law, under Article 101 TFEU, attempts to control this.
Your answer should include specific case examples and evidence of background reading.

Physical activity is very important to every human being. Physical activity prevents multiple diseases like heart disease and blood vessel disease. In warm weather lots of people like to go outside for their exercise. The article I read did a study on people ages 20-39 in South Korea to see the amount of physical activity they did random screenings of people and asked how much activity they did over the last two weeks. They registered this by asking how many minuets of physical activity each person did. The people that did not exercise a lot they asked to exercise more. They made two groups out of these people. One group would workout when the pollution was high and another group would work out with low pollution. The people that worked out in high pollution had a 36% more risk to cardiovascular diseases. Where as the people who worked out in low pollution had a 26% reduction of cardiovascular disease. The article in my opinion is not consistent with the characteristics of good science. Putting people at a higher risk of cardiovascular disease is not something to experiment with. I think it is obvious that if pollution is high and you want some physical activity go to the gym to workout instead of being outside. On a background story my dads boss was going for a run one day in Minnesota and he had a heart attack while he was running and passed away. It is important to check the pollution on a app before working out outside.
