Elon-Musk donated $10 million to a foundation called the Future of Life Institute.  The institute published an open letter from an impressive array of AI experts who call for careful research into how humanity can reap the benefits of AI “while avoiding its pitfalls.”  Go online and find out about the institute’s initiatives.  What are its primary goals?  How can humans establish and maintain careful oversight of the work carried out by robots?  How valid are Elon Musk, Bill Gates, and Stephen Hawking’s concerns?  What other concerns should the public bear in mind as the technological revolution advances?

Now think of something you might be able to make and sell. Construct your own individual market schedule. List five prices and the quantity you would supply at each price. As you do this, remember to consider how much time you have available because you still need to be able to keep up with your school work and other activities. At the same time, consider how much money you will be making on each and what your financial goals might be. Be sure to provide a description of the item you would supply as well as a paragraph describing three factors that most likely will influence the supply of your item. Include an explanation of how each factor might influence your decision on how much to supply of the item.

The requirements for the persuasive speech are the same as the informative speech except   the intention of your speech is persuasive.  This means in your introduction your specific purpose must persuade.  For example, “Today I want to persuade (convince, or stimulate) you about being compassionate.”  Your thesis should break down “being compassionate” to two or three good reasons.  And yes, your good reasons may sound like main points in your informative speech.
