common core – Essay Writers

Using the primary texts supplied, choose two pro-slavery and two anti-slavery documents and write a 750-word essay that examines how the proponents and opponents of slavery used similar concepts in their arguments. You should identify the authors’ main point, and examine how they defended their positions. Your paper should conclude by explaining why some contemporaries of slavery may have found certain arguments compelling, while others found them offensive (to conclude effectively, you will need to explain the historical context in which these texts were written, based on what you have read in the Cengage text and learned in class discussion).

Your paper should briefly introduce your paper’s topic or question and provide a thesis statement. In a paper of this size, your introduction and thesis statement should appear on the first page, in the paper’s first paragraph.
Your paper should show that you reasoned through the evidence in a fair-minded way. In other words you should state (paraphrase) what your evidence says and not what you wish it said or think it should say. You need to state the evidence fairly, even if you think it wrong or offensive.
Your paper should use evidence to answer the historical question. You need to explain how the evidence answers the question. The easiest way to figure this is to think through your evidence and argument using one or more of the key concepts for this course.
Your paper should briefly explain an implication or limitation of your analysis. For an implication, you might consider how your analysis sheds light on one of the course’s key terms. For a limitation, you might note which key concepts your analysis does not (or cannot) address.
Your paper should develop and organize your thoughts clearly and logically. Outlining is a necessary, but not required, step in writing a well-organized paper.
Your paper should draw a conclusion that addresses the paper’s chief topic or question and that states your answer to the question or your contribution to the topic. Common Style:Submission to Blackboard LearnTypewritten, double-spacedLength: 750 wordsDocumentation: Chicago StyleCommon Instruction on Academic Honesty:To meet the standards for Academic Honesty:• Cite your sources consistently throughout your paper (good rule of thumb: at least one citation per paragraph, although introduction and conclusion may not require citation).• Cite your source for any statement or quotation that is not common knowledge.• Place quotation marks around phrases/sentences that represent the words of someone else.• Use proper paraphrasing rather than poor paraphrasing to avoid plagiarism. Case conceptualization and transcription | Psychology homework help

This assignment has two parts, based on the client and recorded role-play from the face-to-face residency. Part 1 is the completed case conceptualization; Part 2 is the transcription analysis. Once completed, you will upload the two separate documents to the assignment area.

Part 1:  Case Conceptualization

Open the Case Conceptualization media piece (linked in the Resources) and complete the information in the online form for the tab titled “Case Conceptualization.” Be certain to review the scoring guide before you begin writing and note that integrating current peer-reviewed literature is required to meet the Distinguished criteria. The selected counseling theory should be consistent with what you applied in your recorded role-play and guide how you frame the treatment goals and interventions selected.

You do not have to complete the plan in one setting; you may save your work and return to the plan as many times as you need to complete your work. This gives you the opportunity to build your case conceptualization in stages. Once you have completed each of the sections, including an APA style reference list, you will create a PDF to be uploaded in the assignment area.

Part 2: Transcription Analysis

For this part of the assignment, you will transcribe a ten-minute segment of the recorded role-play. Use the Transcription Form (linked in Resources) to create your transcript. Be sure to complete all columns in the transcription form. Format the Transcription Form columns as follows:

  • Transcription column: Use a different row for each speaker’s words. Use “CO” for Counselor and “CL” for Client.
  • Clinical Competencies Utilized column: (“What I Did.”) Identify clinical competencies. Competencies may include application of core counseling skills, assessment questions, diagnosis, and theory-based interventions, depending on what is demonstrated in your segment of the counseling. Examples:
    • Reflection of experience.
    • Minimal simple encouragement or simple empathic statement (core counseling skills).
    • Assessment question.
    • Identifying, acknowledging, or reviewing symptoms (link to diagnosis).
    • Other responses that are specific to your chosen theoretical approach.
  • Analysis of Clinical Thinking column: (“What I Was Thinking.”) Analyze your reasoning for your response. Provide a rationale that is based on the client’s statement, your theoretical approach, or both. Identify the theoretical approach by pointing out examples of your use of the model’s main concepts. Examples:
    • “I see Audrey’s difficulty with social situations in part as being due to learned behavior” (link to theory). “Her tendency to generalize her shyness to all areas of her life keeps her from making any progress.”
    • “So, on a scale of 1 to 10, how close to your goal do you see yourself?” (Potential counselor statement in the transcription column). “Here I was using a scaling question from the solution-focused model.”
  • Evaluation of Response column: (“What I Would Do Differently Now.”) Evaluate the effectiveness of your statements and include anything you could do differently. Example:
    • “I think pointing out Audrey’s irrational thinking is important. At the same time, I now think I may be moving the process a bit too quickly. I think an empathic response would have been more effective here. I am basing this on how Audrey responded after I pointed out she was generalizing her negative thinking. I wish I had said __ .”

Requirements

You are expected to meet the following requirements.

  • Written communication: Written communication is free of errors that detract from the overall message.
  • APA formatting: Resources and citations are formatted according to APA style and formatting. A title page is not required for the transcription template submission and is not possible for the treatment plan.
  • Number of resources: Minimum of five resources. These resources must be cited in your work and a reference section should be created in the last treatment plan section.

Note: Your instructor may also use the Writing Feedback Tool to provide feedback on your writing. In the tool, click the linked resources for helpful writing information.

TREATMENT PLAN

For this assignment, you will further develop a treatment plan for one case study subject that you previously selected from eight possible candidates. The clients in the case studies are ethnically diverse and are struggling with a variety of mental health issues.

During the course of this project you will:

  • Evaluate client information.
  • Review possible assessment techniques.
  • Offer a diagnostic impression.
  • Review various behavioral and pharmacological treatments.
  • Discuss the legal and ethical ramifications of the disorder and proposed treatments.
  • Review the impact of diversity issues on various disorders and their treatments.
  • Develop a suggested treatment plan for the client.

You do not have to complete the assignment all in one sitting; you may save your work and then access your treatment plan at all times by relaunching the presentation.

SECOND PART OF THE TREATMENT PLAN

Case Conceptualization

A case conceptualization is an opportunity for a clinician to take information about a client and paint a clinical picture that includes information such as diagnosis, treatment planning, theoretical framework, and intervention selection. This should be written in normal, narrative language, not using clinical shorthand (for example, “client stated…,” “client presented….” Instead, write, “The client is a 42-year-old female who is dealing with many life changes…”). Provide the overall clinical treatment picture for this client, including the following:

Select each tab to enter its pertinent information. Each tab must be filled out before your report can be submitted.

THIS IS THE CLIENT YOU THAT IS CHOSEN

Hafsa is a 24-year-old Muslim woman. She was able to relocate to the United States when she was 18. She has been living on her own, taking college courses and working since that time. Recently, her family has been able to come to the United States and they have joined her. Her family is having trouble assimilating in the U.S. They expect Hafsa to work and support them, to always be available to take them where they want to go, and to serve as an interpreter, etcetera. Since Hafsa has been in the United States, she is less observant of the strict, traditional Muslim guidelines that her family practices (such as observance of holidays, prayers, customs of food, and abstaining from alcohol). This is a constant source of conflict within the family.

Ashford Final Paper

Predictive Sales Report

A retail store has recently hired you as a consultant to advise on economic conditions. One important indicator that the retail store is concerned about is the unemployment rate.  The retail store has found that an increase in the unemployment rate will cause a lack of consumer spending in their stores. Retail stores use the unemployment rate to estimate how much inventory to keep at their stores, which is important in maintaining cost effectiveness.  In this consultant role you will apply calculations and research to create a predictive sales report.

You will complete this project in two parts, but will submit your work as one Word document.  Copy and paste your calculations from your Excel workbook into the Word document.

TIP: For help copying and pasting information from Excel to Word go to http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word-help/copy-excel-data-or-charts-to-word-HP010198874.aspx or watch the “Excel Tips – Tip#48: Copy from Excel to Word” found in Week One Recommended Resources.

The Final Project must be eight to ten pages in length, excluding title page and reference page(s) and must include at least three scholarly sources, in addition to the Job and Labor Statistics site.  Be sure to format your work in accordance with APA guidelines as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.

Part I

Reference the data in this Excel Workbook to complete the following quantitative components of the predictive sales report.  You will complete the calculations below in your own Excel workbook and then copy and paste from your Excel workbook into the Word document.

    1. Calculate the mean yearly value using the average unemployment rate by month found in the “Final Project Data Set.”

    1. Using the years as your x-axis and the annual mean as your y-axis, create a scatter plot and a linear regression line.

    1. Answer the following questions using your scatter plot and linear regression line:

    • Compute the slope of the linear regression line.

    • Identify the Y-intercept of the linear regression line.

    • Identify the equation of the linear regression line in slope-intercept form.

    • Calculate the unemployment rate in 2016, based on the linear regression line.

    • Calculate the residuals of each year.
Find the latest unemployment rate in your state. You will need to go to the Bureau of Labor Statistics Website (
www.bls.gov)and hover over “Subject Areas” in the top menu panel then select “State and Local Unemployment Rates” from the drop down menu under “Unemployment Rate”. Determine whether the rate in your state is within the range of the linear regression line or if it is an outlier.

    • Interpret your results of the model and explain how a company could use the results to drive decision making.

PART II

Next interpret the analysis from Part I to complete the following qualitative components of the predictive sales report:

    • Introduce the project and its significance to the retail store.

    • Reference the statistical analysis that you completed in Part I and explain where the data came from, what type of analysis was done, what the findings were, and whether or not you believe the data to be accurate.

    • Explain your data-driven conclusions regarding the effects of the changing unemployment rate on the retail store.

    • Predict what could occur in the future that would change your linear regression line and therefore your prediction of sales.
