You will apply this scenario to either Option A or Option B, as described in the Requirements section below.

Your Role

You are a new manager or entrepreneur who is responsible for proposing, creating, and managing an advanced analytics department for your organization.

Requirements

Before you choose an option and a company, please read the assessment instructions carefully. The company and industry you use will play a major role in how you develop the assessment. Be sure that:

The executive team in your organization has tasked you with creating an advanced analytics department and then managing the department going forward. They expect a proposal from you for the resource and technology or tool needs of the new department. To create this proposal, you will need to consider the industry the organization is part of, the offerings of the organization, and the types of business problems the organization faces. Keeping these things in mind, create a proposal for your new advanced analytics department that will be presented to the executive team for approval and funding.

Option B

You are an entrepreneur responsible for your own advanced analytics resources, but you need to create a proposal for your investors to request additional funding for your advanced analytics resources and technology. To create this proposal, you will need to consider the industry and offerings of your new company as well as the types of business problems your company will likely face. Taking these things into consideration, create a proposal for your new advanced analytics resources that will be presented to your group of investors for approval and funding.

For Either Option

Once you have chosen an option, you will need to identify a company or organization. You may use the organization where you currently work as long as you are able to meet the requirements of the assessment. Alternatively, you may choose a company and industry you are interested in researching as long as you can fulfill the requirements of the assessment.
