redo of methodology paper – Top Premier Essays

I need you to write this 3-5 page methodology paper on the HIV research question which you also did for me, attached below.
For the final written assignment for this class, take a moment to think through how you would actually study this question and generate a paper that outlines your chosen methodology and why this method is the best for answering this question. This paper should be 3-5 pages double spaced and you must accomplish the following (HINT – you may find it helpful to use the subheadings in italics below to organize your response):
Methodology

Clearly state which methodology you have chosen.
Discuss why the methodology you’ve chosen is best for the study you want to conduct. Be sure to include a discussion of the kind of data (qualitative/quantitative) you want, what the general aim of your project is (type of explanation/approach to inquiry), and an evaluation of how the methodology’s best uses, strengths and weaknesses play into your project specifically.

Measurement

Nominal definitions of all major research concepts (i.e. the concepts in your research question)
Operational definitions of all major research concepts (i.e. the concepts in your research question)
Any demographic/non-directly research question related data you plan to collect (no need to operationally define your demographics; simply indicate which demographic variables you think will be important when describing your participants)

Subjects for Study

Clearly establish who you will be talking to.

If you are proposing a probability sampling design: discuss of who your population is and how you plan to sample them (study population and sampling frame).
If you are proposing a nonprobability design: explain who you will be sampling for data and your rationale. You most likely/may not have a specific population in mind per se, but you should have a logical rationale for respondent selection.

Clearly establish the sampling design you propose to use.

If you are proposing a probability sampling design: identify which selection method you will be using. Do you propose a sampling modification such as stratified or multistage cluster? If so, clearly state which and why this will aid in sample selection
If you are proposing a nonprobability design: identify which sampling method you’ve chosen and why it is appropriate for what you are attempting to achieve.

Given who you want to speak to, are there any ethical considerations you need to be mindful of when selecting respondents (special populations, issues with access to/identification of populations, etc.?) If so, you need to address it here and discuss what you as the researcher will be doing to ensure you are ethically compliant.

Here’s another kind of outline to use for this section – this outline has all the same information from the checklist, just laid out differently. Use what works best for you, leave what doesn’t. 🙂
Methodology
1 paragraph on method selected and why this is the best methodology for the question you’ve asked
1 paragraph on strengths and weaknesses of your selected methodology
Measurement
1 paragraph on the nominal and operational definitions used for research concept #1
1 paragraph on the nominal and operational definitions used for research concept #2
1 paragraph on demographic variables you will measure as well.
Subjects for study
1 paragraph where you outline who your subjects are and why you’ve chosen them to answer this question
1 paragraph on selected sampling methodology and how you plan to find participants.
1 paragraph on the ethical considerations you need to be mindful of given your subjects

environmental controversy

This week’s environmental controversy focuses on the question: should Immigration into the US be reduced? Review the background information. Then, using the References along with resources from your own research, write a 1-2 page response to the questions that follow. Remember to cite your sources using proper APA format.

Background Information

Legal and illegal immigration into the United States is discussed in your textbook. Advocates of liberal immigration argue that both legal and illegal immigrants are needed to perform difficult and low paying jobs that most citizens won’t take. Advocates also sympathize with immigrants because many of them are fleeing poverty and tyranny in their homelands. Immigrants pay taxes, help to support the US social security system, and contribute to American society.

Opponents of immigration include individuals that want to ban or significantly reduce all immigration, and those that simply want more stringent efforts to end illegal immigration. Opponents argue that current immigration policies and border patrol methods are too lenient and allow terrorists to infiltrate into the US.

References References

Two short articles identified below have very different views on the impacts of illegal immigration on state economies. Use these references along with resources from your own research to help answer the questions that follow.

PR, N. (2014, June 19). Illegal Immigration Costs California Taxpayers More Than $25 Billion a Year, Finds FAIR. PR Newswire US.

Questions

How do the views presented in the articles differ? How does illegal immigration both hurt and help state economies? Do you feel that the author’s of these two articles are ignoring each others side, or is it possible that the Illinois economy is simply better equipped to absorb illegal immigration? Before answering this final question make sure to consider the affiliations of the authors.
