Research Study Proposal Part II

Research  Study Proposal Part I and Research Study Proposal Part II are one large  assignment divided into two parts. This is the second part of your  Research Study Proposal, which builds upon the work you completed in Part I.

Using  the same topic you selected for Part I of your proposal, discuss all  components denoted below. Use each numbered item as a required  subheading in your paper.

1. Data Collection Procedures (Describe the step-by-step process you would use to collect your data?) (1 page minimum).

2.  Data Analysis (Select two types of statistics you would use to analyze  gathered data; not stats formula details, but which stats you would use)  (1 page minimum).

3.  Contribution to the Field (explain the benefits to individuals, groups  and society as a whole of the study results.  Example: Using the first  hypothetical social psychology study from Part I, if we find that public  awareness ads are associated with improved changes in attitudes toward  the severely mentally ill might we use such study results as a means of  advocating for Federal funding for expanding advertising efforts; or if  study results show no to little association between ads and public  attitude changes, might we better serve the severely ill by pursuing  other means of reducing stigma? (1 page minimum).

4.  Research Limitations (1/2 page minimum). Discuss limitations that you  foresee in Part I and Part II of your Research Study Proposal. It may be  helpful to review your Instructor feedback for Part I of this  assignment.

5.  Discussion (1/2 page minimum). Discuss and reflect on your conclusions  of the research process and this assignment in its entirety.

The Research Study Proposal Part II must:

  • Use each numbered item as a required subheading in your paper.
  • Be  a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 5 full pages, size 12 font, Times New  Roman, double spaced with 1 inch margins, NOT including the Title and  References pages.
  • Be in APA format, including a title page and reference page.
  • Be proofread and contain few to no grammar errors, misspellings, incorrect APA formatting, or typographical errors.
  • Incorporate a minimum of three supportive scholarly citations and references to support content and conclusions.

Social Psychology Project – My Nursing Experts

Social Psychology Project
Spring 2017 | Craig Fredin
This handout helps explain your class project. Your task is to develop a creative project that demonstrates/comments on one of the social psychological phenomena we have covered in class (attitudes, attitude change, conformity, obedience, compliance). I encourage to you to scan through the chapters and explore different social theories, concepts, famous experiments, etc. Find some area of social psychology you have an interest in and further explore that area (i.e. Milgram’s experiment, cognitive dissonance, implicit bias, altruism, Prisoner’s Dilemma, etc). Projects that bring together multiple phenomena are especially encouraged.
You should use any artistic medium you wish (photography, video, graphic design, prose, poetry, electronic art/design, visual art, etc). The goal is to have you merge your creative side with your scholarly side and integrate social psychology into your everyday life.
PROPOSAL (Due 2/12): Post/submit in the “Project Proposal” area of canvas a 1-2 page paper describing your project in detail. Address the medium you will be using, the phenomena you will be examining and the general concept of the project. You may submit your proposal early to get a jump start on the project.
I will be keeping track of your progress via gentle prying, prodding and nagging. Please make a good effort to begin your work early. Contact me with any questions, comments or concerns.
FINAL PROJECT (Due 4/3): Final projects must be submitted before or on this date by 11:59pm. Projects submitted late will be docked 10 points; projects not handed in before April 10th will be given a 0.
Grading Breakdown:
Portion Criteria Point Value
Proposal: Is it in on time? How thought out is it? 10pts
Creativity:  How innovative and creative is it? 10pts
Topic: Is this a topic that is appropriate to Social Psychology / this course?   Were multiple topics integrated? 20pts
Accuracy: Does your project accurately depict the psychological    phenomenon you chose?  30pts
Appearance: Is it presented nicely / well put-together? 5pts
OVERALL: 75pt
Sample Acceptable / Unacceptable Project Ideas:
These are simply guidelines. The general idea is that, no matter what specific type of project you are doing, its main focus must be on social psychology. It must be clear that you are meeting the goals of the project listed on the previous page.
Acceptable:
Create an online scrapbook of 15-20 advertisements that use specific influence techniques and describe exactly how they use them. Or, create your own advertising campaign that employs influence/attitude change techniques. Or write a play wherein the characters are affected by some social psychological phenomenon.

Unacceptable:
Pictures of yourself reading the textbook
Projects that are irrelevant to social psychology
Projects in poor taste (e.g. extremely violent or obscene material)
Projects that involve breaking the law, cheating, harming others, or placing others at ri
More ideas will be posted in the next week. Contact Instructor with ideas to discuss. Remember, you must get approval for your topic by instructor and the project proposal must be completed before due day/time before proceeding with project.

Ethics and compliance in the workplace

Create a 1215 slide PowerPoint presentation in which you analyze issues associated with ethics in the workplace and recommend training programs for improving employee ethics and integrity.
Introduction

Training involves the application of acquired learning and proficiencies to new situations. Employers can implement many different training programs in the workplace. Different training methods can include on-the-job training, such as apprenticeship and job rotation, or offsite training and distance learning.

The outcomes of the training can be cognitive, skill-based, or affective:

Cognitive outcomes include declarative knowledge such as rules, facts, and principles (Landy & Conte, 2016).
Skill-based outcomes are related to motor or technical skills.
Affective outcomes are related to attitudes or beliefs that affect human behavior (Landy & Conte, 2016).
Ethics training, sexual harassment awareness training, and cross-cultural (or diversity) training have become important elements of the training programs that organizations deliver to employees and leaders. For this assessment, imagine that your work organization has asked for your help in creating an ethics training plan. You must create a plan for both employees and leaders.

Preparation

Conduct research to identify the following:

The requisite components for formal ethics and compliance training for employees.
The requisite components for moral and ethical leadership for managers.
The recommended modes of delivering training and the frequency of the training.
Instructions

Create a PowerPoint presentation covering the following topics:

Formal ethics and compliance training for employees.
Moral and ethical leadership for managers.
In the Notes section of each slide, detail what you would say to an audience of human resource professionals and managers about that slide.

In your presentation, include the following content:

Describe the topic you are addressing: ethics training and its impact on employee performance and organizational success.
Describe the various components of potential ethics training that organizations need to consider as they develop a plan.
Recommend a research-supported training plan for employees and managers for ethics and compliance training. Be sure to discuss the following:
The components of the training.
The mode in which training will be delivered.
The frequency in which training should occur.
In the final slide or slides, compile and present a list of five resources that would help the organization understand the risks of ethics violations. These resources must be scholarly resources from the Capella library or from reputable professional organizations found on the Internet.
Additional Requirements

Your assessment should meet the following requirements:

Written communication: Written communication should be free of errors that detract from the overall message.
APA format: Resources and in-text citations should be formatted according to current APA style and formatting guidelines.
Length: 1215 slides, not including the title slide and references slide. Be sure to include detailed presenter’s notes in the Notes area for each slide.
Number of resources: A total minimum of 9 resources, including a minimum of 4 scholarly resources to support your statements, in addition to the minimum of 5 professional or scholarly resources you are recommending to the organization.
Turnitin submission: Generate a Turnitin originality report for this assessment by copying your presentation and slide notes into a Word document and submitting it to Turnitin. (Turnitin cannot read PowerPoint files.)

Optimization & Quality Indicators – My Nursing Experts

Question description

Oscar is a healthcare administration leader who oversees the management of an ambulatory care clinic. Over the past 2 months, patient inflows have dramatically increased due to a recent shutdown of a neighboring care clinic. The patient inflows require that 90% of all nursing staff work overtime to ensure effective healthcare delivery. However, having 90% of the nursing workforce work overtime could be problematic in terms of patient quality and sfety. Oscar would like to determine how he can best optimize his current staff holdings to ensure a balance between quality patient care and safety.
Review the resources and be sure to focus on the Bastian et al. (2015) article. Reflect on the optimization problem mentioned in the article.
Post a brief summary in 2 or 3 paragraphs of the optimization problem presented in the Bastian et al. (2015) article. Be sure to include an explanation of the objective function, as well as what the constraints actually mean. Then, explain what was done well in the article, and identify where you found shortcomings in the article. Be specific, and provide examples.

Advanced optimization techniques are often necessary to solve real problems in health care. Techniques like goal programming and data envelopment analysis are often used to solve multiple objective problems, such as minimizing cost while maximizing access measures. Other advanced techniques are often required for problems that sometimes seem straightforward. Although you may not encounter the use of advanced optimization techniques on a day-to-day basis, understanding the methodology and application of these techniques is a valuable skill for the healthcare administration leader.
For this Assignment, review the resources for this week. Reflect on, and consider, the advanced optimization techniques highlighted. Think about how you might apply these advanced optimization techniques to healthcare delivery challenges in a health services organization.

How do quality standards for long-term care and home health care vary in comparison to quality standards for other types of health care organizations?
Many health care organizations are part of a general network or group of health care facilities that may include urgent and acute care centers as well as long-term care or home health care centers. Within the context of health care delivery, the focus usually tends to fall on hospitals and acute care centers. However, with advances in health care organizational structures and strides taken with the Accountable Care Organization (ACO) model, most health care organizations are more a reflection of integrated health systems that offer services for urgent, acute care and long-term care and home health care services.
Review the quality indicators for long-term and home health care organizations in the resources for this week. Reflect on the measures obtained and how this may relate to your role as a health care executive in promoting effective and efficient health care delivery.
Post in 2 or 3 paragraphs an explanation of how quality standards for long-term and home health care facilities might differ. Then, explain how you, as a health executive at a hospital, might determine potential partners for an integrated health system that includes long-term care and home health care. Explain how the potential partners may help to reinforce the mission and vision of your health care organization. Then, explain how this type of partnership or integration may be reflective of social change for consumer-driven health care. Be specific and provide examples.
