need help with a discussion post 5

Topic of the Week

  • Political Economy and Economic Development
  • Differences in Culture
  • Ethics in International Business

I need a 1 page discussion post for my Global dimension business class.

Below is a sample post. My post has to be original and different.

It’s imperative to realize that ” Cross-Cultural Literacy” is important when doing international business because there are differences in culture. It’s more complicated than one would think because what Americans value and how they do business may not be what another culture values in a foreign country. Even to something as simple as how Americans greet someone in a friendly gesture may not have the same meaning in another country. We must also understand the fact that “Ethnocentrism” is a reality that happens naturally just as how humans breath. I want to highlight that the book mentioned how Americans, French, Japanese, British, and further more are all guilty of it. However after I did some research I found some ways that people overcome this. First is to not make assumptions because all cultures have their own customs, beliefs, and values. Second is to learn about other cultures because when you keep and open mind you will learn to appreciate culture diversity. Third is to avoid judgements because someone else may act differently, but it doesn’t mean their intentions are bad, so just appreciate the differences. Lastly is be respectful and treat people how you would want to be treated. Cross-Cultural Literacy and avoiding Ethnocentrism are possible factors to a successful business. The case about why Wal-Mart failed in Germany is because executives ignored that retailing in the German market is different because of it’s culture. Germans don’t value what Wal-Mart values. One example is Wal-Mart used English as the default language in management and it didn’t work. Beyond this I also found some more interesting facts. It turns out Wal-Mart failed in South Korea because it failed to localize operations. They didn’t quite understand what Koreans wanted when they went shopping. Wal-Mart also failed in China because their inventory didn’t seem to cater to the needs of Chinese. For example the fresh food section didn’t live up to Chinese expectations. Wal-Mart failed in India because it thought it would offer good money services for the market. However, the Indian government have different regulations about money source, and it’s something that Wal-Mart cannot adopt. Wal-Mart had failed in Brazil because of labor troubles, inefficient operations, store locations, and prices that weren’t competitive. Something to think about when Wal-Mart is one of the top global retailers.

what role do pseudo events play in the popularity or unpopularity of media figures and or politicians

THIS IS THE QUESTIONS: What role do pseudo-events play in the popularity or unpopularity of media figures (such as Kim Kardashian and/or Kanye West) and/or politicians (such as Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton, and/or Barack Obama)?

Successful papers will use the rhetorical concepts from this semester, a number of which are compiled under “Rhetorical Vocabulary” under Assignments on Blackboard, to explain the rhetorical strategies and techniques involved in the topics. Successful papers will be objective and clear-headed about this analysis, using concise vocabulary terms rather than shallower concepts such as “whining.” To achieve this, students should research one or more specific “sides” in the debate and explain the strategies that occur frequently in the arguments associated with these perspectives. Successful papers should cite at least three quality sources. Most successful papers will likely cite more than three.

Remember: The purpose of rhetorical analysis is to explore and explain the connection between the rhetor (the person making the argument), his or her audience, and the rhetorical concepts/strategies. As such, an audience must be a significant part of your analysis here.

Economic 101 essay writing | Economics homework help

Two things will be helpful for this writing assignment. First, clearly identify the benefit.

Hint: the video starts by talking about the revolutionary war against the United Kingdom and the debt that  was incurred. Second, find the definition of tax incidence and use the information given with respect to price elasticity of demand and supply. The supply side in question is frontier farmers.

——————————————————————————–

Events and circumstances surrounding the whiskey rebellion are described in the video produced by Historical Spotlight http://historicalspotlight.com/the-whiskey-rebellion-video/or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hX9gKS7uMZY.

Module15 presents the economic analysis of excise taxes and discuss various issues surrounding excise taxes. Two issues discussed are the incidence of taxes, i.e. who really bears the cost of taxes, and principles of tax fairness including the benefits principle.

1.From the historic information presented in the video, discuss whether you believe that the excise tax placed on whiskey to pay for the national debt incurred during the U.S. Revolutionary War can be justified by the benefits principle or if some other explanation seems more appropriate.  In addressing this question, be sure to define what is meant by the benefits principle.

2.Based on the economics of tax incidence, discuss how the intensity of protest over imposition of the excise tax on whiskey to pay for the national debt incurred during the U.S. Revolutionary War may be related to the supply and demand elasticities of whiskey during the late 1700’s.

Assume that the demand for whiskey was elastic during the late 1700’s and

that the supply of whiskey produced in the frontier regions of the country was

inelastic during this time period.

Benchmark – presentation on the learning process

For this benchmark, you will create a PowerPoint presentation about the learning process for the parents of your students. Select a grade level 1-8 and one of the learning theories discussed in this course.

In a 12-15 slide PowerPoint presentation include the following:

  1. Brief explanation of the learning theory you selected, including why you chose it;
  2. Detailed explanation of how learning occurs, including students’ development, acquisition of knowledge, and motivation, within the context of the chosen learning theory;
  3. Detailed explanation of how individual learners have differences in development, approaches to learning, and performance;
  4. Explanation of the role of families in promoting the intellectual, social, emotional, physical growth, and well-being of children, and;
  5. Description of five simple things that families can do with their children to support their intellectual, social, emotional and/or physical growth and over-all well-being.

Support your information with a minimum of five scholarly references. Include a title slide, a references slide and presenter’s notes within your presentation.

While GCU style format is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and in-text citations and references should be presented using GCU documentation guidelines, which can be found in the GCU Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.
