data management analysis and decision making, accounting homework help

Complete chapter 2 problems 40 and 44 (all letters) from page 78 at the end of the chapter. Refer to the associated files, P02_30.xlsx for problem 40, and P02_44.xlsx for problem 44

40. The Wall Street Journal CEO Compensation Study

analyzed CEO pay from many U.S. companies with

fiscal year 2008 revenue of at least $5 billion that filed

their proxy statements between October 2008 and

March 2009. The data are in the file P02_30.xlsx.

(Note: This data set is a somewhat different CEO

compensation data set from the one used as an

example in the next chapter.)

a. Create histograms to gain a clearer understanding

of the distributions of annual base salaries and

bonuses earned by the surveyed CEOs in fiscal

2008. How would you characterize these

histograms?

b. Find the annual salary below which 75% of all

given CEO salaries fall.

c. Find the annual bonus above which 55% of all

given CEO bonuses fall.

d. Determine the range of the middle 50% of all

given total direct compensation figures. For the

50% of the executives that do not fall into this

middle 50% range, is there more variability in

total direct compensation to the right than to the

left?

44. The file P02_44.xlsx contains annual data on the

percentage of Americans under the age of 18 living

below the poverty level.

a. In which years of the sample has the poverty rate

for American children exceeded the rate that

defines the third quartile of these data?

b. In which years of the sample has the poverty rate

for American children fallen below the rate that

defines the first quartile of these data?

c. What is the typical poverty rate for American

children during this period?

d. Create and interpret a time series graph for these

data. How successful have Americans been

recently in their efforts to win “the war against

poverty” for the nation’s children?

e. Given that this data set is a time series, discuss

whether the measures requested in parts a-c are

very meaningful at the current time.

An ideal gas is cooled from 400 K to 300 K. The pressure is at aconstant rate of P=3×104 Pa. The gas is contained in acylinder with a piston plate (that is is movable and frictionless)which has a cross-sectional area of A=0.3 m2 . Theinitial volume of the gas is v= 2 m3 . a) Draw a P vs. V graph that represents this process, and thendetermine the work done by the gas on the environment. b) Find the change in entropy of the gas . . .

POST 1:
Discussion 2: Emerging Issues in Mental Health Care
Children and youth mental health disorders are on the rise. Childhood emotional and behavioral disorders are the most prevalent and costly of all chronic illness in children and youth. The Systems of Care Grant is driven to enforce supporting services to children and youth with serious mental health conditions and their families. It is designed in creating comprehensive, individualized services and is family and youth driven. It’s designed to transform care to children and youth in the mental health field by providing more intensive cultural care to all communities. It is said that the SOC grant has severely impacted the field of Childrens mental health in a positive way to where most states have implemented the approach across all diverse populations (Miller, Blau, Christopher & Jordan 2012).
In order for the system of care grant to work is must be readily available to all children and youth regardless of a particular system such as juvenile service, mental health, child welfare, and education. To collaborate responsibility social workers should engage all entities and provide well rounded training to all agencies to begin enforcing such measures. Currently in Nevada the SOC is beginning to evolve. In my employment there has been Changes to our mental health system as instead of providing mental health therapy to a certain population or class with one type of insurance the SOC will ensure that the state is providing services to all regardless of insurance carrier or age and also provide long term case management service.
The Nevada Department of Health and Human services with the Medicaid expansion approach is utilizing its resources to make mental health services more accessible for within the community. Managed care models often allow additional flexibility in the delivery of services that is not allowable under the tradition Fee for Service Medicaid Model. Often allowing for a more integrated and person centered approach to service delivery (DHCFP n.d).

POST 2:

Mental health stigma and recovery are becoming more prevalent and main stream, with celebrities coming forward about their own mental health issues to help reduce the stigma. Another area of concern is the after care and recovery of those who have been hospitalized or are in need of further assistance. ” A policy consensus has emerged internationally supporting a mental health system orientation around recovery.” (Loos, Clarke, Jordan, & etc,. 2017, p. 2) Recovery continues to be a place where mental health is lacking in fully caring for the client, and currently once a client is discharged, then the care stops and a lack of follow up leaves the clients in sometimes worse situations than they started in. This lack of after care adds to further problems for the clients and can exacerbate or create more illnesses such as substance abuse.
As social workers, our obligations are to our clients and ensuring we are helping to empower them and find their strengths to better face the challenges they may be facing. This obligation should include the after care and recovery of those clients in mental health crisis or long term care. In the state of Montana, after care is not a funded program yet and continued issues with those who are being discharged after a mental health crisis, can be seen in Montana as well. “The American with Disabilities Act was passed in 1990 under President George H.W Bush. It outlawed job discrimination based on physical or mental disabilities.” (Popple & Leighninger, 2015, p.174). This policy act is one of only a few policies that Montana is currently instituting but further policy updates are needed to ensure proper care for those who have mental health concerns.
