PPD

Submit your draft Results this week. In most cases, the draft Results will be no more that a paragraph, or 2 at most.

Begin the draft with indentation and provide a detailed description of what your expected results will be. For example, if you expect one group to perform better than the other on the variables you are measuring, then state so. You are to state your results such that they support your prediction. To determine significance in your data, identify the statistical test(s) that you will use to establish differences in performance. Also state the probability level at which this significance will be established. If you expect to do post hoc comparisons, identify the multiple comparisons test to be used and speculate on the results. Based on what you predict from your study, state whether your expected results will actually support your prediction and why.

  Rapid Review 3
Select a psychoactive drug that is of pharmacological interest to you, but not one you will review as part of your Critical Review or one that was included in your previous Rapid Reviews. For this paper, you may choose drugs of abuse; however, the paper must focus on the pharmacology of the drug and not on the social or addictive aspects.  If you focus on addiction and social impact, your paper will not receive credit.
In addition to the text, research a minimum of three peer-reviewed articles published within the last five years on your selected drug. Prepare a three-page summary of the drug using the PSY630 Rapid Review Example paper (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. as a guide.
In your Rapid Review, analyze and explain the pharmacological aspects of the drug as they relate to the following: neurotransmitters affected, receptors, route of administration, half-life, doses, side effects, drug interactions, contraindications, and other important facets of the drug. Explain these aspects of the drug in terms of the psychiatric disorders indicated for the drug and the issue(s) associated with that use. If there is no accepted therapeutic use for the drug, evaluate and describe the actions of the drug with regard to the abuse process.
The paper: Must be three to five double-spaced pages in length, excluding title page and references page, and it must be formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center. (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. discussion qualitative reasoning and analysis

  • A code is a word or short phrase that assigns an attribute, idea, or quality to a portion of text or visual data.
  • A category is a collection of these codes that share attributes, meaning, and/or intent. It is also labeled with a word or short phrase.
  • A theme is developed from one or more categories and can represent a “manifest” (directly observable) or “latent” (underlying) aspect of the phenomenon.

For this Discussion, you will examine coding, categories, and themes in your qualitative data you previously collected.

To prepare for this Discussion:

  • Review Chapter 8 of the Ravitch and Carl text and Chapter 12 of the Rubin and Rubin text and consider the differences in coding, categories, and themes.
  • Use the Course Guide and Assignment Help found in this week’s Learning Resources to search for books, encyclopedias and articles related to coding, categories, and themes in qualitative research.
  • Review your coding of your phone interview transcript. Identify two or more codes that could be grouped into a category. Next, identify samples of text you chose to define the codes.
  • Do the same for one of the Scholars of Change videos that you coded.
  • Consider if you can detect a theme emerging from your data analysis process. If you can identify a theme, name and describe it. If you cannot, consider why this is the case.

By Day 3

Post an explanation of the differences between codes, categories, and themes. Provide examples from your work. Use your Learning Resources and the article you found to support your explanation.

Be sure to support your main post and response post with reference to the week’s Learning Resources and other scholarly evidence in APA style.

complete 3 assignment tasks

TASK 1:

Instructions

As she continues her journey at CSU, Claudia has been asked to determine her personal motivation for learning. She has researched the material quite well, and she knows her definitive answer, but she wants to make sure that her daily actions align with her personal motivations.

You should use the details found within the lessons to help establish a detailed schedule for Claudia. Do not forget to embrace the reading assignments for this unit as well. Review the material that is found within the lessons from Units I and II, and help Claudia develop a weekly schedule to rank her numerous priorities. Once you have assisted Claudia, you must help her reflect on her current actions and formulate ideas for any improvements that are necessary. TEMPALTE ATTACHED

TASK 2:

In Lesson 2, in the 2.1 Introduction section, we discussed that there is a process to writing, but that there is no one, specific, start-to-finish process. Instead, the process is cyclical as we learned throughout the lesson. Additionally, you learned that it is important to understand yourself as a writer and that you have your own process.

Please respond to this prompt by reflecting upon your own writing process. You may choose to use the guiding questions/prompts below as a way to begin your reflection; however, you do not have to address all of the questions. The objective of this reflection is to become better acquainted with the process that you go through when writing.

  • Recalling the last correspondence that you wrote, what was your process? For example, if the last correspondence you wrote was an email, what was your process in writing that email?
  • Do you approach each academic writing assignment in the same way?
  • What are your feelings about writing? Have you always had these feelings?
  • Do you have the same feelings about all writing or just writing for which you will receive a grade?
  • Do you begin by gathering your thoughts or by writing down everything you know?
  • Do you always follow the same process every time you write, or does your process seem to change depending upon what you are writing?
  • How does your process change (if at all) between writing prepared for work versus writing prepared for your academics?
  • What is your best outline of your process for an essay?
  • Did you find any of the materials in Unit II about process particularly helpful or inspirational? Why?
  • Did you find the notion of “invention” as a canon of rhetoric to be interesting or productive? Why?
  • What was your process for writing this reflection?

Remember that this is a piece of reflective writing, and while we tend to consider reflective writing to be about “how far we have come,” it is not necessary for that to be the case. Looking in the mirror at our reflection is not an act about the passage of time or about growth; it is about being able to see ourselves where before we could not. So remember to be kind to yourself. You are a beginning writer, and this is an exercise about discovering who you are as a writer so that we can work together to build who you will be.

TASK 3:

Identify an example of sociocentrism or egocentrism (you can use your own life, something from the media, or a fictional account). Explain what the person in the example could have done differently and list some specific ways that these forms of thought can be eliminated from one’s life.
