Watch this video of Act1, Scene 2 of the Tempest at the Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London.
In this video, you will notice that the actors are performing on a stage, the Globe theatre, in front of a live audience. Please pay particular attention when the audience laughs, when the audience listen, and what happens to the rhythm of the play when they do. Also note the posture of the actors, where they are looking, how they speak to each other, their volume.
Then answer those three questions using full sentences and references from the material seen in this module. Why is the audience important in this play? (15pts)
