Instructions: Read the following case study and answer the reflective questions. Please provide

CASE STUDY: Family Member with Alzheimer’s Disease: Mark and Jacqueline
Mark and Jacqueline have been married for 30 years. They have grown children who live in another
state. Jacqueline’s mother has moved in with the couple because she has Alzheimer’s disease.
Jacqueline is an only child and always promised her mother that she would care for her in her old
age. Her mother is unaware of her surroundings and often calls out for her daughter Jackie when
Jacqueline is in the room. Jacqueline reassures her mother that she is there to help, but to no avail.
Jacqueline is unable to visit her children on holidays because she must attend to her mother’s daily
needs. She is reluctant to visit friends or even go out to a movie because of her mother’s care needs
or because she is too tired. Even though she has eliminated most leisure activities with Mark,
Jacqueline goes to bed at night with many of her caregiving tasks unfinished. She tries to visit with
her mother during the day, but her mother rejects any contact with her daughter. Planning for the
upcoming holidays seems impossible to Mark, because of his wife’s inability to focus on anything
except her mother’s care.
Jacqueline has difficulty sleeping at night and is unable to discuss plans even a few days in
advance. She is unable to visit friends and is reluctant to have friends visit because of the
unpredictable behavior of her mother and her need to attend to the daily care.

Your Role: Director of Human Resources at Rocket Optics
Your CEO has sent a memo that urges the company to move away from desktops, laptops, and the idea of computing at the office. You agree with the CEO that your employees will benefit from this move toward mobile devices on multiple levels. At the same time, you do worry about several aspects of his plan. Though you respect the opinion of your CEO, you feel his request for a dramatic shift might put the future of the company at risk. Now, you would like to politely ask the CEO to reconsider his stance a bit.
Compose a memo to the CEO by using proper formatting and organization. In the memo, respectfully, give him your opinion on the matter.
The memo will need to:
• briefly explain the background behind the situation and how the CEO has chosen to address it
• confirm the CEO’s plan and the reasons behind his plan
• persuade him to reconsider by stating at least two issues (with supporting evidence) related to
moving to an office-less, device-driven workplace

Compose a memo in support of your CEO. It will be sent to each board member. Using proper formatting and organization, address the issue of how this idea could revolutionize the company and state how this move could affect the company (and its business prospects) in a positive way.

Discuss the similarities and differences in what actually triggered the Tulsa Massacre as described by Hannibal Johnson and Michelle Place (2nd interview-woman). In your opinion which interviewee provides more detail in discussing the triggers of the massacre. Explain your choice and why.
What are the reasons given by Johnson as to why the Tulsa Race Massacre is left out of the history books? What are your thoughts…and should this history be included or dismissed?
