In this course, you will be learning about how to research and different research methods.  Applied research is often used to solve a practical business problem. Several Liberty University resources will be helpful in learning how to do research.  PLEASE REVIEW GRADING RUBRIC BEFORE STARTING.

Brainstorm an organizational problem, some ways to research the problem and some ways to research to determine how to solve the problem. Think about what steps would you take to conduct the research? Conceive what tools, techniques, or methods you would use.  As you think of this problem, it is vital to understand the various philosophies and paradigms involved in research as explained in Chapter 2 of the Robson textbook.  For this discussion board, compare and contrast the differences of positivism, post-positivism, constructivism, and pragmatism in the context of the research problem you identified.  Evaluate how each of these views compare to Christians one truth worldview.

I prefer you to pick an organization that is dealing with COVID 19 as a major problem for their organization. Hospital, Public Schools, etc… If you prefer another organization problem, please message me for approval.

Must be at least 700 words and demonstrate course-related knowledge, including at least 2 peer-reviewed source citations in current APA 7 format, the text, and the integration of 1 biblical principle as outlined in the Discussion Board rubric (attached). Imagine you are an HR manager working at the Elderly Care Facility, a 100 bed nursing home in Riverside, California. You have been given a task to write a job description for a full-time registered nurse position. Make sure the job description includes well-specified information about job duties and worker requirements of the registered nurse.

Based on the job description, please find information online on the market pay rates and establish competitive pay level for this position in order to attract and retain talented employees. Feel free to use the O*NET website or any other relevant websites. Share your findings as a brief summary within 1-2 paragraphs or a table. Be sure to explain how you arrived at this figure and why do you think it is a competitive pay level. Also, indicate what additional information you would need to be more accurate in your determination of the appropriate pay level.

Your submission should be formatted in current APA style,  2-3 pages long (excluding list of references). You do not need the title page for this assignment. However, please include references to the materials that will support your survey of the market pay rates (you may use Internet resources for this assignment).

Practicum – Organization Diagnosis

Identify a problem, issue, concern or area of weakness at your work or a selected organization that will be suitable for your performance improvement practicum.  The topic should be substantive and allow you to demonstrate your skills in process analysis and performance improvement planning.

First, select an organization, speak to the manager or decision-maker in this organization, explain your performance improvement analysis plan, and obtain approval for you to conduct the analysis in the organization.  We will call this person your “sponsor”.

Note: If you choose an organization other than your workplace, it is critical that you ensure that you will be able to access the necessary information.

Then define the scope of your analysis (entire organization, one office, one process, etc.).  Conduct a review of the selected area so that you understand the relevant policies, procedures, and processes within the organization.

Create and submit a PowerPoint of at least 5 slides. 

Include standard themes and layouts. The PowerPoint must contain the following:

Title slide (course name and number, topic of presentation, student name, date). (1 slide)
Table of Contents. (1 slide)
Section 1
Identify the organization to be analyzed. Describe the organization — what does it do?  Help the reader become interested in the organization. Verify who authorized access for you to perform this analysis (your “sponsor”). (1 slide)
Summarize your understanding of the current situation for the selected area.  Clearly state the symptoms of the problem, who is involved, and how you will know if your performance improvement suggestions are successful. (minimum 1 slide)
Appendices
Append a list of reference documents and any supporting materials. (minimum 1 slide)
