The idea of “being called to a purpose” to me is a predestined calling by a higher power. In my thinking on this subject, I believe that we are all by the grace of God born with a purpose such as being a lawyer, accountant, veterinarian, a physician, teacher and etc. We may have an inclination as we start to get older figuring out what we are good at and these are characteristics that God gave each and everyone of us. Christ wants us to open our eyes and recognize our potential traits within ourselves and embrace them to grow in his will. We may stray but the path that God has destined for us will always be there and we end up back on the right path. Our reading assignment from the Holy Bible states ” And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28, King James Version). This scriptures says it best in regards to the purpose of God. The purpose and it’s relevance to the transformation of healthcare can be tough as a physician or another staff that works within today’s healthcare system. With U.S and it’s fragmented healthcare, its kind of like each to their own. The mentality has gone from caring for the patient’s needs to basing the needs on if the patient has any coverage and what profit can be made from the service. Some with no fault of their own as trying to figure out how to stay afloat and caring for patients is a challenge within itself. The last couple of years, the healthcare has gotten a bad reputation that patient’s who do go in for care often question every aspect of their care and cost associated. Those people in the healthcare were called for a purpose but with the changes in the system it does make it harder to distinguish what direction to take.
