Create an illustrated plot diagram showing the progress and decline of Canadian

Create an illustrated plot diagram showing the progress and decline of Canadian immigration policies over the past 150 years.
Immigration: the process of people establishing homes, and often citizenship, in a country that is not their native country.
Immigration policy sets the procedures for evaluating immigrants and says how many people are allowed into Canada year after year.
“Immigration has largely defined what Canada is today and has been a sustaining feature of Canada’s history. Waves of immigration have built and transformed the population while making significant contributions to the development of our economy, our society and our culture. “- Issues for Canadians
Your task is to research the immigration developments of the last 150 years and decide if each development is an improvement in the way our country treated potential immigrants (progress) or if the policy is a setback that was perhaps rooted in prejudice and discrimination (decline).
Once you have arrived at your conclusions, present your information in the form of an illustrated “progress and decline” timeline. Upon completion, your timeline will resemble a stock market line graph with “ups” and “downs”. The policy you deem to be the most inclusive of differences will be the highest peak on the poster and the one you feel our country should be the least proud of will be your lowest peak.
Procedure:
Choose seven significant events from the section readings starting with the Immigration Act of 1869. You will need 3-5 point form notes for each event.
In addition, select three of the following historical events in Canada’s immigration history and research 3-5 significant points about each event. These will become a part of your timeline.
Komagatu Maru 1914
“Becoming a Public Charge” deportations 1930
Post WWII Japanese policies 1940’s
Hungarian refugees 1956
American draft dodgers and deserters 1971
Lebanese Special Measures 1976
Kosovar refugees 1992
Once you have conducted your research, rank the events in history from Canada’s “highest point” to Canada’s “lowest point”.
Plot your events in a timeline. Use this word document as a template or as an example to create the timeline on a large sheet of poster paper. Notice that:
-the image is used to show the level of decline or progress of racism by this event.
– when inserting an image from online, make sure to change the layout options so you can move it around freely.
-Each image is numbered from 1-10. (#1) will be the highest peak on your timeline and the event which holds the lowest rank (#10) will be the lowest peak
-The oldest event will be near the left hand side of the page and the most recent event will be near the right hand side of the page.
-Under each point, write your 3-5 notes or researched facts.
-Create a bold, creative title.
This will be marked out of 20 according to the rubric below.

At the beginning of this section you were told that you would be looking at the following question: ?
Which historically significant events in Chinese Canadian history indicate progress towards, or decline away from, equity for Chinese Canadians?
Throughout this section you have been reading about significant events in Chinese Canadian history. You have been working on several exercises in your learning guide.
To get started on this section assignment, you will first need to be able to explain the difference between equity and equality (you might want to go back to the beginning of the book for this section to review them).
Consider the questions below:
What does equality look like in a multicultural society?
BC’s Multiculturalism Act states that its purpose is to “recognize that the diversity of British Columbians as regards race, cultural heritage, religion, ethnicity, ancestry, and place of origin is a fundamental characteristic of the society of BC that enriches the lives of all British Columbians.”
What roles do equity and equality play in that recognition?
Step 1
Open the worksheet “Significant Events” by clicking on either pdf or rtf. You will need to follow the instructions on the sheet.
To do this exercise properly, you will need a good grasp of the idea of equity. Here you will need to develop a sense of events that lead groups towards equity of away from equity. For example, when a group is given the right to vote, they are stepping towards greater equity, but when it is taken away, as it was with the Chinese, they are stepping away from equity.
This assignment will require you to go back to the readings to select various events.
Step 2
Once you have filled in the sheet above and have rated a total of 13 events, you will now plot those events on the chart which you will find here named “Equity.” You will need to use key words on the chart, such as “craftsmen arrive,” and “gold rush.” You will also need to keep track of the dates on the timeline at the bottom.
You should see a pattern form.
Step 3
Break your graph down into the following four sections:
early immigration
head tax period
exclusion period
post WWII
Try to determine a major turning point for each period. A turning point, in this case, would be a sharp increase towards equity or a sharp decline away from it.
Now, write a paragraph in which you do your best to explain the pattern of movements towards equity as shown on your chart. Explain what factors surrounded the major turning points for each period. End your paragraph by stating where you think we are now as a province. Is Canada inclusive now?
When you have finished, hand in your assignment. This will be marked out of 16 according to the rubric below.

Instuctions:
I will provide you a case scenario. The case scenario describes a family of three Jacob (dad), Jane(mother), and Savannah( child). They are all going through some mental health issues. You will write about Jacob. You will have to write a 2 page summary of how mental health and substance abuse has affected jacobs developmental role as a father, husband. Also, include how his mental health has been affected and his recovery from alcohol is affected due to all the drama which is happening at the moment. I will attach some sources which you can use on attachments and I will paste the case scenario under instructions.
Case scenario
Jacob is a 45-year-old married caucasian male. Jacob has one 16-year-old daughter named Savannah that he shares with his wife Jane. Jacob currently works as a welder for a construction company that he has worked at since graduating from high school at the age of 18. Jacob had previously struggled with a severe AUD but has been sober for the past 2 years. Jane, Jacob’s wife used to be Jacob’s drinking partner and has continued to heavily drink often. Jacob has struggled with his wife’s alcohol use and has developed Major Depression, which has contributed to suicidal ideation. This environment has become quite difficult for Jacob’s recovery. Being exposed to an environment that presents certain stressors or cues can promote relapse in a person’s recovery (ASAM,n.d.).
Jane is a 45-year-old caucasian female. Jane has been married to Jacob for the past 27 years. Jane has struggled with managing her emotions since her childhood after suffering from prolonged childhood trauma. Jane feels resentful towards her husband Jacob and she feels abandoned which brings up memories of her childhood. Jane has been engaging in cutting behavior due to Jane stating that she feels a “release” of her emotions. Jane has struggled with relationships throughout her adulthood and has struggled to maintain appropriate boundaries in relationships.
Savannah is a 16 year sophomore in high school. Savannah has been struggling with concentrating in school due to tension in the family household and her mothers’ substance abuse. Children who develop adverse childhood experiences are known to participate in risky behaviors and develop chronic health issues (ncsl.org). Moreover, Savannah has experienced forms of neglect due to Jacob and Jane’s inability to be fully available to parent Savannah. Savannah’s teachers have noticed a decline in her grades. Her teachers have noticed a change in her demeanor and have referred her to the school counselor.
