Stress can have a negative impact upon one’s health. Students will incorporate knowledge of MI techniques to engage a specific population in an evidence based activity that reduces stress levels. Through creating a stress management plan, the APRN gains experiential knowledge to utilize in their clinical practice.
Assignment Criteria:
Complete the Stress Management Scale and Perceived Stress Scale located in the course module
Choose an intervention that is useful for stress management: journal, aerobic exercise (running, walking, and swimming), yoga/Pilates, martial arts, meditation, music therapy, equine therapy etc.
Create a Stress Management Plan using two SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time bound)
Research the intervention selected and cite evidence of effectiveness
Provide any cultural considerations that may impact success of the intervention
Submit a 3-5 page paper using APA format (Intro, conclusion, references) to Assignments in Canvas on due date.

Assignment Criteria:
Develop a scholarly paper that addresses the following criteria:
1. Complete the Stress Management Scale and Perceived Stress Scale located in the course module
2. Choose an intervention that is useful for stress management (e.g. journal, aerobic exercise, yoga/Pilates, etc….)

10. Write the paper in third person, not first person (meaning do not use ‘we’ or ‘I’) and in a scholarly manner. To clarify: I, we, you, me, our may not be used. In addition, describing yourself as the researcher or the author should not be used.
11. Include a minimum of 4 professional peer-reviewed scholarly journal references to support the paper (review in Ulrich Periodical Directory) and be less than five (5) years old.

Group therapy may be beneficial for children and adolescents, because it often provides an environment that normalizes clients’ thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. However, as with any therapeutic approach, group therapy might not be appropriate for every client, every setting, or even every therapist. When selecting therapies, you must always consider the psychodynamics of the client and your own skill set.
This week, as you assess and develop diagnoses for clients presenting for child and adolescent group psychotherapy, you examine the effectiveness of this therapeutic approach. You also consider legal and ethical implications of counseling children and adolescent clients with psychiatric disorders.

Purpose
One of the greatest challenges for nurse practitioners is determining when a frail elderly patient is no longer capable of performing certain tasks with safety. For example, this is a particularly relevant issue when a frail elderly patient is still driving and family members do not want to take their car keys away. Nurse practitioners have a legal and ethical obligation to meet standards of care, and while many decisions like taking the driver’s license of a frail elderly patient may not be popular, they are necessary to protect not only the patient but also society as well. When treating children, prescribers often adjust dosages approved for adults to accommodate a child’s weight. However, children are not just “smaller” adults. Adults and children process and respond to drugs differently in their absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion.
