Pop culture trend

Double spaced, 1-inch margins, Times New Roman

Cite at least four analytical citations from trustworthy sources (online or scholarly), in addition to any descriptive information.

Choose a decade 1920-2000, i.e., the 50s, 90s, 00s (aughts), etc., and research pop culture-related trends and media products that were popular during this time. Select a product or trend that was especially notable or interesting and explain the product or trends popularity and social influence, using concepts discussed in class. For example, the Walkman, or hippie culture, or the hula hoop, or early hip hop (Kurtis Blow, etc.) all would fit.

Make sure to fully describe the trend or product. What is it? Who participated? Why did that product appeal to them?

Research the historical, social, and economic context in which the trend or product became popular. How did it respond to that context?

Explore the impact of your selected example: On culture? On economics? On politics (if applicable)?

–Your analysis should include at least two concepts from: ideology, political economy, representation, and/or genre and technological platform.

Your paper must include:
A clearly articulated thesis statement
An introduction in which you lay out your major lines of argument as regards the ideological work of your media text
A body (see below)
A brief conclusion in which you point to the political stakes and implications of your argument
The body of your paper must explore and expose the context and impact of your example:
Consider interlocking aspects of culture, economics, and society.
Explore the impact of your trend as illustrated above
Utilize at least two concepts we have studied in this class to support your arguments and analyses

Thesis: Did your essay clearly state, develop, and argue convincingly a compelling thesis as regards the ideological work of the text?
Analysis and argument: The thesis and supporting arguments must be backed up by detailed analysis of what you see to be key aspects of the text. In other words, did you illustrate how your argument is grounded in and emerges from your text?

Film research paper la la land

Your topic needs to stay centered on the film and not drift into generalities. Use the word society advisedly. When you need an example to support your thesis, look to the film or to one of your sources, not your personal experience of the world.
You can absolutely use photo stills to illustrate your point about visual elements. They do not count toward page count, however, and you must explain the significance of your pictures in the text of your paper.
Some important questions about films that might help you stay focused there are:
Why did the director make this choice? What does it mean to them, and what are they trying to communicate to the audience.
How are the actors performing the script to interpret the director’s vision of the film?
What kinds of camera work are used to tell parts of the story? (This is a question that normally appears on my final exams, fair warning).
How does the director use color or black and white as a way of telling the story?
Remember that in films, there are no accidents. It’s never raining by accident, never sunny by accident, the costumes aren’t an accident, the sets aren’t an accident. Everything that’s there is because the director wants it to be there. What are they trying to communicate with this film?
You must choose one of the films from the syllabus. I’ve said this repeatedly, and my patience with proposals on films not on the syllabus is wearing thin.
I’m serious about at least half of your sources being peer-reviewed. Weak sources make a weak paper. Papers without a Works Cited list will not pass. Papers whose Works Cited list consists of nothing but a list of links will not pass. Learning to use MLA consistently is a department standard for this class. The use of any Google results for student-help websites and paper mills is going to count against you. Use reputable sources only.
If the film was made after the TV era, check YouTube for interviews with directors or actors about that film. These are valid and really strong sources–anything directly from people involved in the film is a primary source. Hitchcock, for example, loved appearing on TV and did a lot of televised interviews. They’re easy to find.
As usual, this is a Turnitin paper. Those whose papers are plagiarized in whole or in part will fail, and there is no makeup on the final paper. Be very sure before you hit send.

Successful leader

FOR THIS PAPER, YOU MUST READ A PROPER BIOGRAPHY AND NOT ARTICLES FOUND ON THE INTERNET, ABOUT A BUSINESS OR NON-PROFIT LEADER WHO HAS CHANGED THEIR ORGANIZATION OR THE WAY BUSINESS IS CONDUCTED IN THE MODERN WORLD.
I chose the biography of Steven Jobs.

Below, please find some necessary guidelines for your biography paper.

1. What is your thesis or point you are making about your choice?

-Why did you choose your person?

-HOW DID THEY CHANGE THEIR RESPECTIVE ORGANIZATIONS? FOR SUCCESS OR FAILURE?

-HOW DID THEIR ROLES INFLUENCE BUSINESS OR NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOR?

2. YOU SHOULD  ask if your person  was an authentic leader as discussed in chapter 12 of our textbook, “ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOR.” IF THEY WERE, DID THIS HELP OR HINDER THEM IN CHANGING OR IMPROVING THEIR RESPECTIVE ORGANIZATIONS?

DID THEIR POSTIIVE LEADERSHIP PROMOTE TRUST IN EFFECTING ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGE? OR DID THEY ABUSE THEIR POWER IN THEIR ORGANIZATIONS AS DISCUSSED IN CHAPTER 13 OF OUR TEXTBOOK.

Remember to give several examples from the biography to support your claim they did understand the differences or did not always?

HOW DID THEY MANAGE CONFLICT, AS CHANGE AND ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGE USUALLY INVOLVED THIS CLASH OF PERSONALITIES? YOU CAN FIND HELPFUL IDEAS IN CHAPTER 14.

PLEASE LIMIT BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION TO ONE PAGE AS THAT IS NOT THE PURPOSE OF THIS PAPER.

THIS IS MORE A REFLECTION PAPER AS YOU APPLY IDEAS AND CONCEPTS FROM YOUR READING AND OUR CLASS.

YOU SHOULD ALSO  CITE CONCRETE EXAMPLES FOR THE WORK LIFE OF YOUR CHOICE, AND APPLY THEM TO YOUR OWN LIFE.

FOR EXAMPLE, PERHAPS OPRAH WHO SOME WRITERS HAVE CREDITED WITH CHANING THE WORLD OF ENTERTAINMENT, OVERCOME INCREDIBLE ADVERSITY. PERHAPS YOU ADMIRE HER FORM OF LEADERSHIP, TO THE POINT OF HERE BEING A SERVANT MODEL AS DISCUSSED IN CHAPTERS 12 AND 13.

OR YOU ADMIRE JACK MA AND HIS PERSONALITY TYPE, MOTIVATIONAL THEORY, AND LEADERSHIP STYLE. FOR EXAMPLE, YOU MAY MODEL YOUR WORK AND LEADERSHIP STYLE AFTER HIM.

PLEASE USE THE MLA STYLE, AND LIMIT THE USE OF FOOTNOTES.

I will upload our textbook and the biography of my choice. Thank you!
