Business overview
Progress ChaTime Cafe (PCTC) is a new business idea originated from international students at Centennial progress Campus, with the intention to fulfill the need of providing the popular different  sweet flavors of  Bubble teas for students and promote healthy tea or drink culture for studying. Also ChaTime is currently looking for franchisees in British Columbia and Ontario, which means good business opportunity.
The Bubble tea store will target both foreign students from southeast and east countries as well as Torontonians who live close to the college area. The unique location of the shop right inside the progress campus area offers great potential for yearly increase in the number of customers as the populations of foreign students keep increasing at the college. However, due to the present situation of COVID 19 pandemic, the business operations will focus on free delivery of the tea to customers within 5 kilometer to the shop and charge fewer amounts to deliver food at a far distance. Also there will be drive through pick-ups.

Progress campus has over 14, 000 of both international students and exchange program young students. In addition, the campus allows TTC and TTC stations are not so far away which makes it easy for many customers. With an average of 4,000 foreign students and workers residing at least 5 kilometers close to the campus, there will always be minimum sales to 2,000 people per day.
With relatively low cost associated with opening a bubble tea caf such as little specialized equipment, low staffing needs, the business start up would be at a lower cost by using one of the lounges on the campus and furnishing it moderately. The construction cost would be limited to creating exterior 2 doors and driving through windows for pedestrian traffic from within the college and for outside the college customers. The business would need to sign an agreement with school authorities to lease the place.

The three business owners would enter into a general partnership agreement to equally share both in the operations and liabilities. This partnership would add the advantage of contributing different skills; each partner would be providing a source of income and credit, sharing both management responsibilities and risks, and avoidance of special taxes. The partners would contribute to the cost of registering the business name and getting licensed according to Canadas business rules and regulation for starting. The business would be structured such that the share of ownership for each partner is 35% stake for the general cost of the start up.

Each student will individually submit a research proposal that charts their path
forward to answering an experimental marine biology question they have
identified. Briefly, the proposal should outline the proposed experimental design, data
to be collected, anticipated methods of data analysis, and hypothetical conclusions
necessary to address their question. Your written report should include the following
major components written in the style of a scientific project proposal:
1. A solid introduction that explains what your proposal is about and what
biological question your proposed experiment will answer. Your introduction
should also contextualize the experiment you are proposing by providing
necessary background information from scholarly literature on the topic of your
proposal. It is also important to clearly articulate why the collective We should be
interested in answering the biological question you have decided to focus upon.
This is a great opportunity to point out other work that has been done on your
topic (hint: use scholarly sources for this part!).
2. An experimental design/proposal section that explains the experiment that you
will carry out to answer your biological question. Clearly lay out, using full
sentences, the experiment you propose to run (aka – design a robust experiment
to answer the biological question you proposed in your introduction!). The detail
should be sufficient enough that I could easily replicate your experiment in the
future. Be sure that you identify a control, explore sample size and replications,
and explain the type of data you plan to collect.
3. A discussion section where you contextualize and explain the application of the
results of your proposed experiment. This is another place where you need to
clarify how your proposed experiment is novel, impactful, and vital to bettering
our collective understanding of marine biology in some way (its ok to extrapolate
a bit).
If you consulted any scholarly literature to complete your written report (hint: you
SHOULD be consulting the literature to write up your final report!), be sure to include a
Literature Cited page with your written report (after the body of your report and before
your appendix). Please provide full citations in CSE-format:
https://writing.wisc.edu/handbook/documentation/doccse/nameyear/

Guidelines:
3 – 5 pages, double-spaced, 12 pt. font, 1-inch margins
NO header information (please do NOT include your name, the date, this class,
etc in the header/top of your written report…if youd like to include a title, thats
fine, but otherwise please get right into your narrative!).
Your paper should be clearly organized using paragraphs and have a clear
introduction, body of experimental proposal, and conclusion with smooth
transitions between sections
A literature cited section on a separate page (the last page of your report)
Properly-formatted CSE-style in-line and bibliographic citatio

Motif

1. Description of the Paper:
Write a paper on a literary motif found in the Psalms and/or the Wisdom Literature in the Bible. A literary motif is a recurring verbal expression of something with either tangible or intangible attributes. A motif could refer to an object that can be observed, an experience that can be described, or an idea that can be conceive.

**For example, a natural phenomenon which can be observed is death. And death isinvolved with things which might not be directly observed, such as certain attitudes and perspectives. Nearly all the literature in this course refers to the aging process and death in one way or another.

2. Procedure:
Your research should include at least five sources, two which should be from Bible encyclopedias and dictionaries, and two from book commentaries. Include publication information on the Bible translation(s) used in your References page.

3. Mechanics:
Your paper should be 10-12pages in length, doublespaced, following the APA paper format.

4. General Information on Research:
a.Dictionaries and encyclopedias can be usedfor secondary sources. Secondary sources can provide information about primary sources. Concordances provide helps for word and topic studies.

b.Primary sources are the original literary work, such as the plays of William Shakespeare. In our course the main primary source is the Bible, but there is also the less relevant literature from the Ancient Near Eastern Civilizations which is to be considered.

c.Secondary Sources are the works of those who explain the primary sources. Access to secondary literature is found through the tools previously mentioned as well as by databases and indexes.

5. General Information on Writing:
a.Three primary skills we rely on when writing from sources are quotation, paraphrase, and summary.Choosing one means of citing a source is part of your strategy in supporting your claims. Besides quoting, paraphrasing, or summarizing, the only other words in your paper are your own words.

b.Given these tools for writing from sources, one must distinguish their own words from the wordsof the sources used. Writers distinguish themselves from their sources by meticulously noting the precise location of the words of their sources so that your reader can follow your logic and pursue further information through the sources cited.

c.After developing each main point of your paper, write the introduction to your claim and the conclusion to your paper. A good introduction leads with a point of interest, then provides appropriate context for the reader to understand your claim. If the main points of your paper are derivedfrom your claim, your introduction need only introduce your claim. A good conclusion would consider the broader implications of the argument in the paper.

d.In paragraph development, remember that paragraphs are similar to the paper as a whole in that both have an introduction, a claim, and support for the claim. A good paragraph introduces the new topic at the beginning and stakes a claim about the topic. Another way of saying this is the writer expresses a point of view about the topic in the paragraph. The point of the paragraph should be stated in one of the first few sentences or in the last few sentences. The body of the paragraph provides evidence and reasoning to support the point of that particular paragraph. Write transitionsfor each main point of your paper and for each paragraph in the main point.

Humanities Final Paper

The Ancient Through the Medieval West
Final Project Research Paper
General Parameters:
Select a topic of interest to you in Western culture from the Prehistoric period through the Middle Ages.
The topic should focus on either the Prehistoric Era; the Ancient Near East; Ancient Egypt; the Classical world of Greece and Rome; Early or Byzantine Christianity; Islam; or Medieval Europe.
The paper must be an argument with a thesis. Explaining why your topic is important to understanding Western culture could be your argument, but you need to be specific as to how and why it is important.
The paper must use a minimum of five (5) sources.
The paper must be 7 to 9 pages long, word-processed in Times New Roman 12, double-spaced, with one-inch margins on all sides. Papers shorter than 7 full pages will be penalized; papers longer than 9 pages are acceptable but should not exceed 12 pages.
The paper must include an introduction, with an arguable thesis; a body which provides sufficient evidence to support your thesis using outside sources and your own commentary; and a conclusion.
o If you are focusing on art objects or an artist, you are encouraged to include pictures within your paper, although this is not required, and if you do, you must include a photo credits page. Pictures are additional materials and do not count towards the page length.
Formatting the Paper
You must have a heading; the format is below:
Your name
Class and section: HUM 101-W03 or 101-W04 (Please choose your section.) Instructor: Keith Jensen
Date you submit the Paper
You may place this heading in either the upper left-hand or right-hand corner of the paper. It needs to be single-spaced.
If you use Microsoft Word, the current version (or the 2010), your paper is not single-spaced. Every time you skip a line, it will leave a little space between the lines. I do not want this, so to avoid this, do the following:
Look at the formatting boxes in the upper right (each box includes something like this: AaBbCc, etc. Underneath the letters are words like Heading, Normal, No Spacing, etc. The default is the Normal Box; you need to click on the No Spacing box, and then it will single space normally.
After the heading, skip one space, and then write the title of your paper.
Then skip another space and begin your paper; make sure you change to double-spacing.
Ultimately, your essay should look like this:

Other Guidelines
You must number your pages.
MLA citation format must be used wherever you use material from a source, whether you quote it
directly or write it in your own words.
The only things that do not need citation are your own comments or information of common knowledge (i.e., Howard Carter discovered Tutankhamuns tomb in 1922).
Follow the MLA guidelines found in the Humanities Bible available on Blackboard. U.S. copyright and Harper College regulations concerning citations govern written texts, e-mail, software programs, and Internet sites.
FORBIDDEN SOURCES: Wikipedia, Dictionary.com, About.com, Schmoop, Sparks Notes, Cliffs Notes, and the like.
ACCEPTABLE SOURCES: Books, e-books, pdf copies of print books, and on-line databases; internet/web-based sources must be approved by me.
All papers must have a title, and please make it more interesting than Research Paper or Olympic Games. The title should reflect what your paper is about.
Your audience for this paper is the world at large wishing to learn something about your topic. You should not assume that your reader knows anything about it.
Important: I will deduct points for all formatting and MLA infractions, no exceptions.

Humanities 101-W03 and -W04/ Jensen / Fall 2020 3 Listed below are the questions I will ask as I read your papers and will use them to determine your grade.
Do you create a question that has a controversial answer and answer that question? How completely do you answer it? How well do you stick to answering the question and avoid drifting away from it?
Do you demonstrate knowledge of and understanding of the material you have covered as it relates to your topic?
Do you make a reasonable argument? Is your answer logical, based on evidence and rational argument?
Do you present enough convincing evidence to support your arguments? Do you consider all relevant, available evidence?
Do you cite sources properly, whenever necessary? Do you use quotations, paraphrases, summaries, etc. and cite them correctly?
Do you apply general principles of good writing? Are you clear, concise, and generally grammatical? The paper is worth 200 points of the course grade. After I have given the initial points, I will deduct points

No Citations will result in a zero for the assignment. If this is the second offense, you will fail the course and be reported to the Student Conduct Officer, Michael Vanlandingham. See Conse- quences (and exceptions) on the Plagiarism and Academic Dishonesty Handout on Blackboard.
You may think me obsessive or picky, but attention to even the small details is important. Surgeons who miss that one speck of dust on their skin when they are scrubbing for surgery could kill their patients. These issues I mention may not be as critical, but they are important and should not be ignored.
Finally, I am not your editor. The paper must be carefully proofread and checked for spelling, typographical errors, punctuation, and major grammatical issues before you submit it. Do not rely on spell-check or grammar-check; they are not always accurate, and they wont notice if you are using the wrong form of a word (e.g., to, too, two; where, were, wear; their, there, theyre; etc.). I will deduct points for grammar errors, and I will use the following as a guide to determine the number of points:
00-05 errors
06-10 errors
11-15 errors
16-20 errors
21-25 errors
26-30 errors
