Your last reflection asks you to consider the commemorative statue below as a piece of public history and a secondary source. The goal of this assignment is not necessary to change your opinion on this statue or what should be done with it but to analyze it from a historically informed perspective. Consider the following prompt in 250 words, using historical details from these materials: The Abolitionists film, Lecture, the above Douglass primary source. Prompt: What history does the Lincoln statue tell, and what/whose histories are not included? What should be done with this statue? Both images attached to the project. More information to consider: Frederick Douglass spoke at the unveiling of this statue in Washington D.C. in 1876. Days later, he said this: “Admirable as is the monument by Mr. Ball in Lincoln Park, it does not, as it seems to me, tell the whole truth, and perhaps no one monument could be made to tell the whole truth on any subject.” And “There is room in Lincoln park for another monument,” he urged in a letter published in the National Republican newspaper just days after the ceremony.

Industry Interview Analysis (150 points) You will be conducting three 30-minute interviews in order to better understanding the challenges, opportunities, constraints, and issues inherent in human resource management, as well as to start your professional networking, better connect with the course material, and have a chance to explore a specific HR area of interest. First, you will need to choose one specific HR functional area of interest (e.g. recruiting, interviewing, training and development, compensation, performance management, etc.) and then develop your specific interview questions around that area (you will ask the same questions of all three individuals and then analyze and provide a synthesis of their responses). Second, you will need to identify the three individuals at different companies to interview who perform that specific HR functional area on a regular basis (they do not need to have HR in their job title, they just need to each perform the particular function you are interviewing them about). Utilizing your personal family/friends network is fine, but you might want to be strategic and identify individuals that work at organizations that you would be interested in learning more about, interning, or working in the future You will be graded on the quality of questions asked and the analysis and synthesis of responses (see grading rubric). The paper is expected to be between 6-8 double-spaced pages of text, not including an APA cover page (1” margins, 12 pt font, Times Roman font). Include your list of the questions in the Appendix (which is in addition to the regular pages of text). Everything should be submitted in one Word file.

Based on the same scenario as in Assignments 1 and 2, you are ready to begin considering the factors needed for your proposal based on RFP #123456789, dated 07/14/2014. Remember that another local competitor intends to submit a proposal as well.
Before beginning this assignment, review FAR Subpart 19.5—Set-Asides for Small Business.
Additional factors to consider are as follows:
Both your company and your competitor’s company will qualify under the HUBZone Act (FAR 19.5).
Based upon the scope of work required, your initial estimates for the contract will exceed $150,000. Therefore, you are willing to offer incentives to the Navy.
Your competitor intends to submit a proposal for a 1 year contract.
Write a 5-6 page paper in which you:
Examine two (2) reasons why your business would qualify under the basic concepts of the HUBZone Set-Aside Procedures. Provide a rationale for your response.
Analyze the primary way(s) in which a multiyear contract would benefit both the Navy and your business.
Determine whether your bid proposal should be based on a fixed-price, a cost-reimbursement, or a time-and-materials type of contract. Provide a rationale for your response.
Determine the category of incentives that you are willing to offer (i.e., cost, schedule, or performance). Provide a rationale for your response.
Determine whether your bid proposal should be a technical, management, or cost proposal. Provide a rationale for your response.
Speculate on five potential risk factors that you will need to consider if your company is awarded the contract. Provide a rationale for your response.

Based on the same scenario as in Assignment 1, imagine that you have received a request for proposal (RFP #123456789), dated 07/14/2014. You also find out through a reliable source that a local competitor has also received an RFP for a similar type of product and service. Because of this, you will be required to negotiate the contract, and will need to consider the contract specifics.
Write a 3-4 page paper in which you do the following:
Suggest three ways in which the basic concepts of the FAR Policy would mutually benefit your small business and the Navy.
Determine the method that you will use for solicitation of a bid. Next, explain why the Navy is likely to choose your company in the sealed-bidding process.
