Something New Analysis
In this paper, you will use the theories and ideas learned in this course from Wood, Johnson
and Carnegie books to thoroughly analyze the characters, plot, relationship development,
relationship maintenance, and relationship deterioration in the movie Something New. This
paper is to be a minimum of eight (8) pages in length, typed, 12 pt. times new roman font, APA,
double spaced, and free from errors. This is due Week 10.
In an effort to demystify this assignment, an example of how to set this paper up might be as
follows:
1) Detail the plot and describe each main character in the movie Something New,
2) then use the text book by Wood to analyze elements of Kenya and Brians relationship
and/or Kenya and Marks relationship such as the self, perception, listening, conflict
management and the communication pattern during conflict within, dimensions of
romantic relationships and guidelines to consider when for communicating in romantic
relationships.
3) Use the Johnson book and Carnegie book to analyze Kenya and Brians over all
characters.
Keep in mind that you are trying to find and apply the ideas discussed in the texts in the
context of the movie and the movie characters. I realize not everyone will have a positive
response to this movie; however I am NOT looking for your opinion on the movie. Rather I
will be evaluating your paper based on your understanding of the theories you find and how the
characters embody those theories. One last thingI believe in each one of you to complete this
paper and score very high on it. So dont forget to breathe, be present, and believe in yourself.

Student Protests

During the 1960s and 1970s, college students oftentimes protested raising concerns over social conditions in society such as racism and sexism.  They would hold protests, picket, or even march on the Mall in Washington D.C.  During this period of history, some social change was birthed throughout the colleges and universities of the U.S through the way of social movements.

Up until just recently (e.g, Black Lives Matter), some people argue that todays students are not actively engaged in social change and furthermore express little interest in promoting it.  Do you believe this to be a fact?  For those students who are involved in social change, it generally means posting something on social media.  Does posting something on social media truly represent the same caliber of commitment and action to fighting injustices compared to participating in a march or conducting a sit-in?

Are you personally active in promoting social justice?  If yes, what has motivated you to take action?  If no, why not?

Mini Research Paper (Compare/Contrast Essay of 2 Scholarly Articles)

For this assignment, you will take the research and analysis you’ve been doing and write a short academic research paper. This essay will need to be at least 1300 words. It must be in an MLA formatted document. You must use BOTH of the academic sources you used for your Journal Article Analysis assignments. You must directly quote and cite BOTH of your sources in your essay.
You will need a introduction with a clear topic AND thesis.
THESIS:
Your thesis will explore the relationship(s) between similar or differing data or analysis or theories from your two articles. This can vary widely–so you may not figure out your thesis until you have analyzed and explored the two articles together.
You will need an organized body for your essay with clear transitions between points. The body of the paper will consist of comparison and contrasting between your two sources to explore and develop the relationship between those sources.
You will directly quote and cite the sources and then provide your analysis (some of this can be taken from your Journal Article Analysis assignments). And, you will need an accurate reference page.
The type of argument or approach you take is up to you. I will be more concerned with the logic of your argument and
analysis, the grammar of the writing, proper formatting and citation, and the quality of the research.

How do editing process on social media and other forms of media impact our views of reality, success, and self?

I need someone to make this essay argumentative including literary devices such as imagery, anecdotes, etc.
I need to include some research as well. No plagiarism.
I have a rough draft included, however it is weak it needs to be more sophisticated with arguments of pros and cons including evidence backing up those claims.
