First include your rationale for choosing the book that describes where you are
First include your rationale for choosing the book that describes where you are from. The motivation behind this
request as outlined in brightspace states:.
At the beginning of the year, I asked all of you to pick a book and share it with your ‘group’ members that
explained where you are from. The idea of explaining and knowing where you are from is based upon a
question the Justice Murray Sinclair often uses in discussion reconciliation. You are not required to
discuss reconciliation in reflecting upon why you chose the book you did, but I hope that you can imagine
what it would be like to lose those stories that constitute how you explain where you are from.

I also hope you have chosen great books as I am always to looking to add to my library and gain an understanding of
the different places and contexts that shape your lives.
Second, reflect on an issue that pertains to the Scholar Strike in support of Black Lives Matter and Indigenous
reconciliation, to highlight just two of the many issues involving justice and equity in our world. A list of resources
is provided on Brightspace.
Third, describe a mini case. Essentially revisit an experience in your life and describe and analyze it using a concept
from the course. As suggested in the module on job satisfaction, examining a job, your future career, or an activity
you engage using concepts related to job satisfaction is usually interesting, as it helps you think about what is and is
not meaningful. Having said this, you are free to choose another topic. As I wrote in Brightspace:
In addition, in the portfolio, I have asked you to include a mini case. This is a short (less than a page) examination
of an experience in your life using a framework or concept from OB to analyze it. As most of you have had job at
some point, assess your satisfaction with your job (or compare jobs if you feel that is appropriate) using the
frameworks to explain why you were or were not satisfied. You do not have to do this this week as it is to be contained
in the portfolio. If you have not had a job, you can think about the job you want. You can choose some other
framework for your case, I am simply suggesting this one as it is probably the easiest to describe and many of you
have easy access to this experience. In addition, I have selected this chapter because when students choose to explore
an experience, they often use these frameworks and they have provided some of the most interesting observations
from students. Generally, when something becomes interesting to you, you make it interesting for me.
