Rapid Review 2

Select a psychoactive drug that is of pharmacological interest to you, but not one you will review as part of your Critical Review or one that was included in your previous Rapid Review.

For this paper, you may choose drugs of abuse; however, the paper must focus on the pharmacology of the drug and not on the social or addictive aspects.  If you focus on addiction and social impact, your paper will not receive credit.

In addition to the text, research a minimum of three peer-reviewed articles published within the last five years on your selected drug. Prepare a three-page summary of the drug using the PSY630 Rapid Review Example paper (Links to an external site.) as a guide.

In your Rapid Review, analyze and explain the pharmacological aspects of the drug as they relate to the following: neurotransmitters affected, receptors, route of administration, half-life, doses, side effects, drug interactions, contraindications, and other important facets of the drug. Explain these aspects of the drug in terms of the psychiatric disorders indicated for the drug and the issue(s) associated with that use. If there is no accepted therapeutic use for the drug, evaluate and describe the actions of the drug with regard to the abuse process.

The paper:

Must be three to five double-spaced pages in length, excluding title page and references page, and it must be formatted according to APA style
Must include a title page with the following:
Title of paper
Your name
Course name and number
Your instructors name
Date submitted
Must address the topic of the paper with critical thought.
Must use at least three peer-reviewed sources in addition to the text.
Must document all sources in APA style
Must include a separate references page that is formatted according to APA style

Final Integration Project

The Final Integration Project is based on the following scenario: All references will be provided upon assignment of the project.

You are hired at a Catholic healthcare facility which was originally founded by the Felician Sisters. Your workplace is appreciative of your efforts to complete your degree at Felician University. The administration has received word that you have taken a course about the integration of moral and spiritual considerations in healthcare. You have been appointed head of a committee which will write several articles. These articles will be published in a new handbook for the facility.

For the Final Integration Project, you will write an Introduction to the handbook, and one article regarding Catholic-Christian teachings focused on an area of healthcare discussed in our course. These are both about one page each (200-250 words). You will submit ONE document with TWO sections. Label the sections as shown below.

I. Introduction

In your introduction to the handbook, explain how your healthcare institution strives to provide holistic care to everyone it serves. Give an understanding of this care by briefly referencing one or two of the assigned readings from the course. This is NOT a research paper, where you would find and rely on outside material. Find materials from our course to reference, and explain in your own words how and why care at your institution is concerned with the care of the whole person. The introduction will be 200-250 words (no more than 300 words including one or two references).

II.  Article regarding the moral considerations of a medical decision

In your article regarding the morality of a medical decision, you will provide a clear and concise guide to help inform patients and/or their families regarding the Catholic-Christian perspective on a healthcare issue (Death with Dignity Act). Choose a morally challenging medical decision discussed in our course. Define the issue, and explain the basics of Catholic-Christian teaching regarding the issue. Again, this is not a research paper. One or two references or citations will be from the coursework. Otherwise, use your own words. This brief topical article will be 200-250 words (no more than 300 words including one or two references).

The Final Integration Project is worth 50 points. The grading rubric will be essentially the same as listed in the syllabus for a Scholarly Writing Assignment, except that for the Final Integration Project, sections I and II are each worth 25 points, for a total of 50 points.

Managing Business: Management vs. Leadership

Double Spaces Calibri Font. – Exploring management vs leadership using Explore Maslows Hierarchy of Needs, Herzbergs Motivating Factors, and McGregors Theory X and Theory Y and how they relate to management and leadership. Define each of the theories positive and negative attributes.

Outline provided: Teacher comments on Outline: Please use your first supporting point as your main topic and then the supporting paragraphs would go into detail about age, technology and communication preferences. Please make sure to avoid explaining concepts from our textbook. Consider the definitions we’ve learned to be general knowledge for this assignment. Please research and dive deeper into this topic to expand on what we’ve learned from the textbook.

Qualitative Write up

General Guidelines:

The report should be double-spaced, 12 point font, 1 in margins
Include a cover page
Follow the general format of the example methods and results sections posted on Canvas, though my primary concern is that you have all the information (and that the information is correct).
* Page lengths below are simply a guideline.

Part One: Rationale and Research Questions (around 12 to 1 page)

Why did we choose this topic? What are the benefits of studying this topic using qualitative methods?
What were our research questions? (Remember, you only need to choose 2 of our four, which can be found at the bottom of this page. All four can be done for minimal extra credit).

Part Two: Method (1 12 to 2 pages)

Describe the two interviews
– How long did each take?

– How many/what interview questions were asked?

– How many follow-up questions were asked in each interview?

– Basic demographic and location info

Briefly describe how you coded the data (describe each step)
– What were your original codes? What were your final codes?

– Describe how you collapsed, combined, and cleaned up the codes.

Part Three: Results (2 to 4 pages depending on the size of tables)

Create a table listing the following for each research question:
– Code name (one or two word description)

– Code description

– At least one example of a quote that describes that code

In paragraph form, answer our research questions based on your interview.

Part Four: Discussion/Project Overlap (around 1 page)

Briefly describe how the data and results you found in this interview related to the data in our quantitative project. Did it support that data? Challenge it? Add something new?
List 2-3 main points that you would consider the take aways of the two studies we completed.
