What is Patchwork text?
Patchwork text is a cumulative form of assessment submitted at the usual hand-in at the end of the module with a formative element submitted part-way through the module.
•    Assignments are written gradually over the course of the module, discussed and edited collaboratively each week.
•    ‘Patches’ are short pieces of writing with different formats and areas of focus and they involve a range of different skills.
•    Patches connect to each other through the module learning objectives and the final patch is reflective commentary that ‘stitches’ them all together, drawing on further reading, including other students’ patches, to produce a personal synthesis that addresses the main aims of the module
•    Patches are set each week and then brought to the next session where they will be reviewed and discussed with other students in small working groups.
•    Each patch relates to one or more of the learning outcomes of the module.
•    We recommend that you aim for approximately 500 words per patch.
Module assessment requirements:
Summative patches (five) submitted at the end of the module (2500 words); formative patches (two) submitted part-way through the module (1000 words).
You should rework the formative patches to include in your summative assignment but you must submit the 1000 word formative element in order to pass the module.  There is more information below and on Moodle and we will discuss this over the course of the module.
Tutor and student roles in patchwork text assignments
Students will need to engage individually (writing patches) and collaboratively (offering supportive and constructive feedback).
Tutors recognise and appreciate that these are challenging processes and will support you.  Although we will not read written drafts during seminars or tutorials, we will discuss your ideas and offer guidance on both content and the writing process in every seminar.
There is an opportunity for formative tutor feedback halfway through the module via the turnitin submission of two patches.  Other than that, we invite you to develop your own judgments about what comprises ‘good’ writing collaboratively over the course of the module.
There is no ‘right’ way of doing the patches and you can each interpret writing tasks differently.  You should rely on the feedback you get from your group. Therefore it is important that you make every effort to attend seminars and, where you cannot all be together in the same physical space, that you make time for discussions as a group online.  Without these opportunities, you will be disadvantaging yourself and each other.
Formative patches
Two patches should be submitted part-way through the module for tutor feedback as part of the programme and University Learning and Teaching Strategy emphasis on increasing formative assessment.  These should be Patch 1 and a second patch of your choice from the patches you have worked upon at that stage.  These patches should be submitted as hard copy during the seminar and you should print out and fill in the cover sheet on Moodle to indicate what kind of feedback you would most value – check Moodle for further instructions.
Summative patches
At the end of the module, five patches will be submitted through Turnitin only as part of an overall assignment; these are:
•    The Parenting Guide Patch (2)
•    The Advocacy Patch (3)
•    The Letter Patch (4)
•    The Mentoring Patch (5)
•    The Final Reflection Patch (6)
However you should include the Disobedient Professional Patch (1) and your other formative patch as appendices.

Developmental Psychology 200 Research Assignment The subject of the research pap

Developmental Psychology 200
Research Assignment
The subject of the research paper will be Erikson’s Psychosocial Stages of Development. You will pick one of his eight Developmental Crises and research how best to “resolve it”.
The research paper is an opportunity for you to conduct your own developmental analyses. The paper should be based on library research, and class materials (i.e., lectures, assignments, and text). It is important to note that your project must have scholarly bibliographic references.

Cover

The purpose of this assignment is to display your critical thinking about an issue in developmental psychology. You are expected to integrate your own experiences into the analysis of the literature and to demonstrate analyses from multiple perspectives. For example, compare/contrast analyses of the issues by race, culture, history, or theory.
You should read many papers, books, and articles for your project and include at least 5 references. The paper must be at least 5 typed pages, double-spaced, and should include:
a clear statement about the developmental issues addressed in your paper, the focus of your observations, research, or experiences, and the evidence on which your views are based; your personal reactions, evaluations, and critical analyses from different perspectives references to ideas expressed in lectures, discussions, or readings; and
your synthesis, point of view, or conclusion to your argument.
“Create” conditions most conducive to an individual’s successful resolution of your choice of an Eriksonian “crisis”. You are asked to choose one of Erikson’s 8 “crisis” of development, and imagine designing an environment for someone in which he/she is all-but-guaranteed to thrive psychosocially, according to Erikson. Imagine yourself writing a “handbook for perfect development” during one of his stages.
As the “sphere of influence” diagram is intended to depict, you may want to address issues within one of the spheres (interpersonal, organizational, community, etc.), or you may want to address issues in different spheres.
I expect you to revise, edit, and proofread the paper thoroughly before handing it in. Disorganized writing and thinking will lower the grade given to your paper. Use APA style (which is found in most psychology journals).

Questions:
Identify whether the research discussed in the article is experimental research or correlational research. Explain your choice.
Evaluate the internal validity of the research described in the article.
Evaluate the external validity of the research described in the article.
Evaluate the ecological validity of the research described in the article.
The article you read is a brief summary of a longer research article. Therefore, it does not include all the information that is typically included in a research report. Explain what additional information about the research methods used need to be included in order for an educated consumer to accurately evaluate the research presented in the article.
Explain how you would use either observational methods or case studies to examine the phenomenon discussed in the article if you were a researcher studying this topic. Be sure to explain how you would deal with any ethical issues that might come up.

Spirituality vs. Religion (Readings 1-2, 14-15; Extra Source 4)
Students are to provide an in-depth examination of one to three subjects and apply this/these concept(s) to The Way. Below, a number of lecture/prompt topics used throughout the course are listed along with their designated reading assignments. Students may choose to use one or more of the listed topics below. There is freedom to approach this Short Response creatively, but it is of dire importance that student’s clearly articulate their topic content well.
For the second section of the paper, we will flip the script of the scholarly and turn it back to the personal. We see in The Way that at the heart of the Camino de Santiago is the opportunity for contemplation and transformation of one’s life. As viewers, we were brought into the pilgrim’s world of contemplation and transformation, and moved to put ourselves in the place of the characters who appeared. The director presented each character as broken and searching for greater meaning, a state that all humans find themselves constantly revisiting. After watching the film, take a few minutes to contemplate and write a reflection about key life-questions that The Way raises for you. These questions may concern your own self-understanding, faith, or social and familial relationships. In this section alone, students may use first person pronouns (I, me) to answer the prompt
