Brand and Branding

EON productions was impressed with your TikTok and you have an opportunity to keep pitching for your
umbrella brand to be featured in the next Bond film. The producers have asked for some ideas about how your
brand portfolio could feature in the film. In order to demonstrate the potential fit of your brand with the Bond
brand you now need to create an interactive narrative using PowerPoint .
Your mission is to create an interactive narrative which features several different possibilities to showcase your
various sub-brands in the film. Your interactive narrative has to have a minimum of 3 decision points and eight
different potential scenes in order to provide the producers with sufficient alternatives.
There should be some consideration of how you want your brands presented in the film (e.g. visual/aural
placement? How long will the brand be on screen? Who will use it? Is it integral to the plot?). A brief
explanation of the scenes you are imagining will help you flesh this out. You should also provide some options
in terms of the brand placement strategy that you plan to adopt if you are featured in the film (e.g. crossadvertising, product packaging, use of social media, competitions, experiential events, etc.)

Social sciences investigating human behavior

Professionals in the social sciences investigate human behavior and society for the purpose of understanding why people act the way they do. This investigation
can help address a wide variety of social issues, such as the role of social media in the Arab Spring protests, the impact of social skills on future success, racial
factors in police violence, and how partitioned grocery carts can help shoppers purchase healthier foods. Social scientists can help address issues such as these
through research and investigation.
The summative assessment for this course has two parts. In Project One, you will conduct a research investigation that examines an issue in the social sciences.
You will identify appropriate resources for investigating the issue you select, use these resources to apply social science principles to the issue, and develop a
question related to the issue. In addition, you will identify an audience who would be interested in the selected issue. In Project Two, you will develop a
presentation for the audience you identified in Project One. In your presentation, you will explain how social scientific thinking has affected you and discuss the
impact of the issue on your audience, supporting your claims with evidence.
Project One addresses the following course outcomes:
 Illustrate the impact of social scientific thinking on personal and professional experiences
 Select appropriate and relevant social science resources in investigating contemporary issues in the social sciences
 Communicate effectively to specific audiences in examining fundamental aspects of human behavior
 Apply essential principles of the social sciences in addressing critical questions related to human behavior

Process Development Template

A grant can be a powerful tool for achieving what might otherwise be impossible, or at least very difficult, to accomplish. What are some project ideas you have in mind for addressing a specific problem or need? If you were to apply for a grant, what would you pursue? What might your organization pursue?
With project ideas in mind, read the literature and familiarize yourself with evidence-based practices associated with the problems you are seeking to address. Determine what is currently being done to solve or mitigate these problems. This step is extremely important in determining how or if to proceed with your own project idea.

Critically think through your project ideas and concepts, as well as the literature, and select one to further develop for your grant proposal. Use the Process Development Template, located in this week’s Learning Resources, to organize your ideas regarding the purpose of the project and the research you have conducted.

Note: Use the Process Development Template as an iterative and cumulative worksheet for keeping notes and ideas about the different elements that will be addressed in your grant proposal. While this document will not be submitted for grading, it will inform assignments that are submitted. You are encouraged to use this template as both a guide for, and record of, the work you are doing.
For your first Discussion, review this module’s Learning Resource.

Part A:
Describe your previous grant-writing experiences and explain what are, in your opinion, the most challenging aspects of grant writing. If you have not had previous grant-writing experience, what are some challenges you might anticipate and why? Describe the work you are currently involved in for which you might pursue funding.

Part B:
Post your project idea, explaining the needs it will meet. Explain why this project might be attractive to potential funders, and distinguish it from others that have addressed the same problem.
