Health problems

Since I will have a final exam next week and our professor gave us 8 prompts, which he will pick two of them as our final exam prompt on the exam day. We only have 12 hours to write two essays according to the 2 prompts he will choose and we can only use in-class readings and materials as sources to refer to, so I need you to make me an outline for the exam.

The outline format is listed below in “midterm sources & answers” file. I listed two prompts in the midterm as an example of how to do the outline for each prompt. “Potential Exam Questions” file include all 8 prompts you should work on. “readings” zip file are all in-class readings. There are a lot of articles so you can only choose the ones relatable to the 8 prompts to read and work on.

You should make the outline as format below. Each prompt: 2 good answers you think that can answer the prompt (no need not-so-good answers) & one table includes 3 sources + sources relevant content summary, and their implications. If you write more than pages I assigned, I will compensate you for the extra pages.

You should only use in-class readings I gave.

SLP 2 Epidemiology

Assignment:

Write an essay in which you do the following:

  1. Define and differentiate between morbidity and mortality rates of a population. Why are these rates important? Please explain your response and give an example of each.
  2. Describe the differences in the leading causes of mortality in the United States and in a developing country of your choice (for the year 2010–2014).

Be sure to support your opinion with evidence from the literature.

Expectations:

Length: 2-3 pages, excluding title page and references from required Reading.

File format: Your work should be prepared using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, or Excel, depending upon the assignment instructions. For assignments requiring video or voice recordings, use media formats that are supported by MyTLC Courses as noted in our Trident Support page.

In-text citations and references: All information and ideas in your papers should be supported by in-text citations and corresponding references at the end of the paper.

Scholarly sources: At least two scholarly sources should be included in your papers. Online sources must be limited to credible professional and scholarly publications such as peer-reviewed journal articles, e-books, or specific webpages on websites from a university, government, or nonprofit organization (these have extensions .edu, .gov, or .org). Presenting consumer sources such as e-magazines, newspapers, Wikipedia, WebMD, or other commercial websites (these have extensions .com) as references is not appropriate.

Scholarly writing: Use an academic paper format, not an essay based on your opinions or experience. Avoid using the first person in writing. Synthesize what you learned from the sources you read; write papers in your own words; and cite sources within the text, as well as include a properly formatted reference list.

Use of direct quotes: Use of direct quotes should be avoided. Only use direct quotes when preserving the exact words of an author is necessary. In the rare instance that directly quoted material is used, it must be properly cited (with quotation marks and page numbers in the in-text citation); quotes should not exceed 5-10% of the total paper content.
