Who can help me with law and epidemiology homework questions?

1. You and a friend are both employed at a local hospital. A mandatory meeting has been called for Friday afternoon after work. Your friend becomes concerned because her church is having special afternoon and evening services Friday, and she is expected to be there since she is part of the church leadership. She goes to her supervisor to ask if she can be excused from the meeting, and he tells her that if she is not at the meeting, she will be let go. Which federal regulations, if any, is the employer violating? What are some steps your friend can take to deal with this situation? Be sure to present reasons to support your answer.
Your response should be at least 200 words in length. All sources used, including the textbook, must be referenced; paraphrased and quoted material must have accompanying citations. Any references or citations used should be in APA style.
2. A nurse is terminated from her position at a hospital after 20 years. She is told that it is due to budget cutbacks. As she is preparing to leave on her last day, she over hears the nurse manager telling the director that she is glad to be rid of her. Because she had been there so long, she was making too much money for the same job a person in their 20s could do. In fact, the nurse manager had already hired a younger worker as an entry-level replacement for at least half the salary the nurse was being paid. The nurse being terminated is 52 years old.
What claims if any can the nurse bring against the hospital? What specific law can she raise to support her arguments? Would she be successful in her claim? Why or why not? What is your opinion? Be sure to include reasons to support your answer.
Your response should be at least 200 words in length. All sources used, including the textbook, must be referenced; paraphrased and quoted material must have accompanying citations. Any references or citations used should be in APA style.
3. You are the Human Resource manager for a small corporation with about 50 employees. You are noticing that more managers are complaining to you about employee performance issues, which seem to be related to personal problems. Currently, your company does not have an Employee Assistance Program. Based upon what the managers are telling you, you believe that the company should implement an EAP. You need to convince senior leadership that an EAP is a good investment. Draft a memo to the CEO explaining your reasoning as to why the company needs an EAP. Use an Internet search engine to review actual EAP programs to provide you information for your research. Cite empirical data that supports why implementing an EAP is a good return on investment for an employer.
Your response should be at least 200 words in length. All sources used, including the textbook, must be referenced; paraphrased and quoted material must have accompanying citations. Any references or citations used should be in APA style.
4. Explain the design of case-controlled studies in epidemiology, including the selection of cases and controls.
Your response must be at least 200 words in length. You are required to use at least one outside source. All sources used, including the textbook, must be referenced; paraphrased and quoted material must have accompanying APA citations.
5. Describe the design of a cohort study in epidemiology, distinguishing it from a randomized trial.
Your response must be at least 200 words in length. You are required to use at least one outside source. All sources used, including the textbook, must be referenced; paraphrased and quoted material must have accompanying APA citations.
6. Discuss potential selection biases in case-controlled studies. What is the potential impact of such biases on study outcomes and interpretation?
Your response must be at least 200 words in length. You are required to use at least one outside source. All sources used, including the textbook, must be referenced; paraphrased and quoted material must have accompanying APA citations.
7. Review the material presented in your textbook on odds ratio, beginning on page 220. Discuss determination of the odds ratio in cohort and case-controlled studies. When is the odds ratio a good estimate of relative risk?
Your response must be at least 300 words in length. You are required to use at least one outside source. All sources used, including the textbook, must be referenced; paraphrased and quoted material must have accompanying APA citations.

Instruction
This week we will look at research whose findings are reported in words not numbers. This is Qualitative research. Remember l is for letters and n is for numbers.
1. Explore the various qualitative methods used in nursing research
2. Discuss why one might choose qualitative methodologies to study nursing research questions
3. Learn how to critique qualitative nursing research studies
DB #7: QUALITATIVE ANALYSIS (50 POINTS)
1. Go to the ISU library databases.
2. Find a Qualitative article that is important to your current or future practice. Remember qualitative articles use wordsnot numbers in their results and gives more meaning to what we do. THIS MUST BE QUALITATIVE=-=NOT QUANTITATIVE. HINT: May not be a bad idea to find one that gives meaning to your intervention for your EBP projecteither on the culture context of care or population. HINT#2: If you pick a Quantitative Article to critique you will receive an AUTOMATIC ZERO. There is no excuse for not knowing the difference between qualitative and quantitative at this point. HINT #3: I will not provide any advice as to whether or not an article is qualitative or quantitative. Again you should already know this.
3. Use tools to critically appraise the article. You can use your text critique guide or any CAT from a quality CAT website.
4. Write APA style paper using the major headings of the critique from a CAT or your text as your paper subheadings. Provide for a discussion that is inclusive of all of the questions within each of the major sections.
5. Again Im looking for a discussionnot just yes-no responses.
6. Do not include the questionsjust provide the answers to the question in discussion format so the paper flows.
7. No more than 3-4 pages long (the shorter the better)not including title page and reference page. Getting your ideas in a logical order not being too wordy and staying on point is key.
8. Submit in Word format to the discussion board.
9. Comment on others content and APA style.
10. Hang on to this paper as you may want to use it for the critique assignment coming up.

The Mason Corporation’s present capital structure, which is also its target capital structure, calls for 50 percent debt and 50 percent common equity. The firm has only one potential project, an expansion program with a 10.2 percent IRR and a cost of $20 million, which is completely divisible—that is, Mason can invest any amount up to $20 million. The firm expects to retain $3 million of earnings next year. It can raise up to $5 million in new debt at a before-tax cost of 8 percent, and all debt after the first $5 million will have a cost of 10 percent. The cost of retained earnings is 12 percent, and the firm can sell any amount of new common stock desired at a constant cost of 15 percent. The firm’s marginal tax rate is 40 percent.

  1. What is the firm’s optimal capital budget?
