Instructional Objectives for this activity:Analyze the influences of internal politics in desired career path in criminal justice.

Please consider the following scenario:

You are in a southern state, rural county, or traditional culture tremendously behind the rest of the country and extremely economically depressed. The Sheriff’s Office has three female deputies out of 100. All three female deputies work in administrative positions; none work in patrol, in the jail, in the courtroom, as detectives, etc. The Sheriff’s Office does not have a crime scene unit or a dedicated individual who is trained in crime scene investigation. No one attends continuing education training in crime scene investigation. There is no modern equipment available that was purchased by the Sheriff’s Office for use by the officers for crime scenes and the Sheriff does not choose to call upon the State Bureau for assistance under any circumstances.

You want to be a crime scene investigator and to be the best crime scene investigator you can be because your sincere desire is to serve the People. You are hired as a rookie by the Sheriff’s Office with promises of being a crime scene investigator.

Please respond to the following prompt:

  • How might the internal politics of this Sheriff’s Office affect your chosen career path?

  • Mandatory vaccination of children.
  • Allowing nurses educated in other countries to practice in the United States.
  • Faculty shortages in U.S. nursing education programs.

You will write a letter using professional business format to one of your Federal legislators outlining what the issue is and why it is important. The letter will address: ( I am located in Columbus Ohio)

  • The current policy structure.
  • The need for the change.
  • The suggested change.
  • Cost implications if the change is implemented.
  • The role the nurse as a change agent will take at the policy table.

Ravishankar (2003), explains internal whistleblowers are employees who bring wrongdoing at their own organization to the attention of superiors. In the past a whistleblower was known as a snitch, or a lowlife who betrays a sacred trust largely for personal gain (Ravishankar,2003). In the late 1970’s laws were put in place to protect employees in private industry, including anti-discrimination legislation to control the hiring and firing polices. In addition, most of these laws had requirements preventing employers to retaliate against employees for reporting violations to public authorities (Ravishankar,2003). In 1980, protection to employees as a result of the corrosion of the at-will employment policy, which until very recently meant that private, nonunionized employees could be fired for any reason, including blowing the whistle (Ravishankar,2003). In the eyes of the court it is against the law for employers to be able to fire an employee at will for reporting unsafe or illegal conduct.

Dr. Jeffrey Wigand showed moral intelligence by choosing to do what he felt was right and overall the best for consumers as well. In my opinion Dr. Wigand took a stance even though he knew there might be unfavorable consequences he was willing to take that risk in order to save or help bring attention and awareness to the tobacco companies. Although, he did not stop the sale of tobacco companies Dr. Wigand still brought attention to the issue and cause buyers to stop and second guess. I am a firm believer in the motto if you don’t stand for something you will fall for anything and in my opinion that is the type of character Dr. Wigand displayed. If I was in Dr. Jeffrey position, I would have done the same thing. I am very passionate about my job and representing my company with the upmost respect, but I could not sit back and watch or know innocent people are getting injured or sick because I decided to look away instead of reporting the misconduct.

He was referred for cardiac catheterization.

Patient interview: He stated this is not the first time to hospitalize, he is sleepy, but open minded to interview. When i asked how do u feel to be in hospital , he said i feel great, just so hot and tried. After answer this question, he fall a sleep.
