About: For this second exercise I would like for all of us to explore our creative side by Creating a Space/Platform type of exercise.

• What is a Creative Space or Platform?
  • They are commonly used in advertising. However, for this exercise it would be more of a proposal that should create: awareness, interest, changing attitudes and/or that leads to action.

• Some ideas or examples:

1. Project Luz: Founded by Argentinian photographer Sol Aramendi in 2004, is a learning space where participants can share different points of view through photography. BDA is short for Big Data Analytics; this is a study that includes cyber defense. Cyber security is a very important part of any infrastructure that works closely with networks and any other type of computer systems. “Big data analytics in security involves the ability to gather massive amounts of digital information to analyze, visualize and draw insights that can make it possible to predict and stop cyber-attacks” (Ponemon Institute, 2013).
Using BDA in conjunction with new security technologies can guarantee a stronger cyber defense system. “Eighty-two percent would like big data analytics combined with anti-virus/anti-malware and 80 percent say anti-DoS/DDoS would make their organizations more secure” (Ponemon Institute, 2013). With this being said it is important for this technology to be introduced within the infrastructure to create a more secure environment in which PII travels through. Another important factor that is included within BDA is real-time fraud detection. What company doesn’t want to implement new technology towards this area?
Making sure that the environment that the company works within a strong cyber security infrastructure is a number one priority including BDA will allow for that extra cushion. BDA is able to check information real time which is important with keeping information current and safe. While implementing BDA it can “help you understand how other perceive your products so that you can adapt them or marketing, if need by” (“Ten Practical Big Data Benefits | Stories | Data Science Series”, 2017). There are so many advantages of implementing BDA within a company. Keeping data secure is a big role that will be included when BDA is utilized as well as keeping marketing websites up to date in real time and so forth. BDA can bring a wide range of additions to any company.

Critique 2.
Big Data Analytics has a huge future in Cyber Defense. “Big data analytics is the process of examining large data sets to uncover hidden patterns, unknown correlations, market trends, customer preferences and other useful business information” (Rouse, 2014). When counter acting unknown threats, Big Data Analytics can provide the proactive cyber counter defense that is needed for the future.
“What’s in it for me?” With Big Data Analytics, systems are capable of learning and quickly pointing out unusual anomalies that don’t go with the Big Data trend. It can raise awareness of out of the ordinary behavior on a network or within a software application. Big Data Analytics takes the majority of the data to find a common practices, and as soon as something is highly unusual it notifies someone or something. “Better, faster, actionable security information reduces the critical time from detection to remediation, enabling cyber warfare specialists to proactively defend and protect your network” (Cyber Security Analytics, n.d.). Cybersecurity through anti-virus/anti-malware companies are already implementing Big Data Analytics to help spot out the start of Zero Day threats.
Big Data Analytics is the way forward to protect against growing threats and malware that is just starting to grow. When a threat is discovered and provides the data to anti-virus/anti-malware company that utilizes Big Data Analytics. The Big Data Analytics will be able to point out the new malware and take action immediately to help prevent any further damage to the network. “Big data analytics + security technologies = stronger cyber defense posture. Eighty-two percent would like big data analytics combined with anti-virus/anti-malware and 80 percent say anti-DoS/DDoS would make their organizations more secure” (Ponemon, 2013).
