1. Describe the main aspects of atomic structure. Include the following: What are subatomic particles, where are they located, what are their charged and what are the general volume/mass relationships within the atom? Draw the atom oxygen.

2. Draw the atomic structure of carbon. Describe the special bonding properties of carbon and tell how this is related to carbons versatility. What role does carbon play in the role molecules of life?

3. Describe saturated and unsaturated (mono poly) fatty acids. Draw stick figures of each. What is the relationship between certain fatty acids and human health.

4. List the four major macromolecules (biological molecules) and list the building blocks of each. How do organisms use each of the four macromolecules to sustain life?

This Assignment deals with how a nation’s income is measured using Gross Domestic Product (GDP). In doing so, it highlights the various components of the GDP, the difference between nominal and real GDP, and the limitations of the GDP as a measure of national income.

1)U.S. real GDP is substantially higher today than it was 60 years ago. What does this tell us, and what does it not tell us, about the well-being of U.S. residents? What are the limitations of the GDP as a measure of economic well-being? Given the limitations, why is GDP usually regarded as the best single measure of a society’s economic well-being?

2)What is an intermediate good? How does an intermediate good differ from a final good? Explain why it is the case that the value of intermediate goods produced and sold during the year is not included directly as part of GDP, but the value of intermediate goods produced and not sold is included directly as part of GDP.

3)GDP is defined as the market value of all final goods and services produced within a country in a given period of time. In spite of this definition, some production is left out of GDP. Explain why some final goods and services are not included.

I chose to write about discharge planning barriers for the rural and homeless population.  I personally have experience in this area as a case manager.

3.    Why did you choose this topic?
I chose this topic because I have personally encountered many barriers to discharge planning with the rural and homeless population.

4.    Briefly discuss the connection between your sociological topic and your field of work.
I work in case management and discharge planning.  When a rural resident or homeless person require skilled nursing care and case management, these two populations encounter many of the same barriers for very different reasons.
