Essay Title: An Interview with ____(Name)______ on ___(OSCM Topics)__

One of the learning outcomes is to understand the role of operations and supply chain in an organization and its interactions with business functions such as accounting, finance, and marketing. For this assignment, you shall conduct an oral or written interview with a professional to investigate how operations and supply chain activities affect his/her responsibilities in the organization. The topics must be related to the materials/chapters covered in BA360. Do NOT write the essay as a marketing/promotional report of the company/person. Practice your critical thinking skills.

The professional must be related to you. She/he can be a family member, a relative, a current/former boss, a friend, a friends parent, a co-worker/colleague, etc. The professional does NOT need to be in the OSCM area but his/her responsibilities shall interact with OSCM. The person can be a store manager, entrepreneur, engineer, scientist, project manager, event planner, accountant, etc.

You develop FIVE interview questions from the knowledge learned in this class. The questions shall be customized to fit the interviewees position and experience. Below are some sample questions:

How is the sales forecast done? what kind of data is considered when the sales forecasts is made?
What kind of OSCM people that you interact with within your company or outside of your company?
What are the customer benefit packages (i.e. tangible and intangible products/services; core and peripheral)?
How do you determine whom and where to source materials and services? What risks do you face?
Are you interested in using analytics to determine inventory policy? What issues would you like to be addressed using analytical tools?
Are you interested in using technologies to automate some processes? What benefits would you like the automation to bring?
How have you or your company been affected by the disrupted supply chains during the pandemic?
Are there inefficient processes that negatively affect your performance?
How do you ensure quality in service/product provided or procured?

Write the Annotated Bibliography, based on the assigned textbook readings and writing task instructions available in Module 3.

Annotated Bibliography, Part 1: Submit an annotated bibliography of at least two (2) sources that represent two opposing positions on your research topic. These sources should be credible and should all be found using resources and databases from the Ivy Tech Library website. Some useful genres for Ivy Tech Library sources include newspaper or magazine editorials, book chapters, academic journal articles, statistical reports, court rulings, or political speeches. The two sources you document and annotate for Part 1 may be two of the four sources you found for Writing Task #1: Research Proposal, so long as they meet the criteria above.
