Professor and class,

My name is Beatriz Duque Daria I was born in Cuba, but I am currently living in Miami Florida, I am 37 years old, I have two wonderful children that I love with all my heart and a wonderful family. I decided to study nursing from a very early age to help sick people and to be a successful professional in life because it has always been my vocation. I graduated in 2005 as a nurse and a couple of month latter I arrived in the United States, work as a Certified Nursing Assistant, phlebotomy technician until I took my registered nurse state board exam in 2015, since then I work as a nurse at Kendall Regional Medical Center in the intermediate care unit and Baptist Hospital in the Oncology unit in Miami.

I decided to do the master in Family because I would like to grow in this area looking for new challenges as a professional, researching with the aim of achieving a better patient care and preventive care since it is crucial in our everyday life. Throughout this course one of my goals is to improve my leadership and integrity in the workplace as a Nurse Practitioner. In my practice, I have found that I enjoy the interaction with people from all around with life in various settings. The ability to touch not only the patient but the whole family, groups of peoples and communities are very rewarding. Also, my major interesting is in the clinical setting where I am able to gather and analyze information and work with an interdisciplinary team to care for people; these interactions between provider (NP, PA, MD) is in the best positions to make all of the above possible.
