Feel free to add links. Also, please note, if you miss that week to post, you will receive no points, NO EXCEPTIONS! This assignment depends on class participation. And remember, class participation is a large part of your overall grade!
Nilda: The film The Artist is Present is the expression of Marina Abramovic as an artist. Marina explores the relationship between the artist and the audience. She challenges herself and participants emotionally, intellectually, and physically. She uses her body to express new ideas about gender, violence, sex, feminism, and honesty. The film is strong, unexpected, different type of art. Marina ‘s goal is transforming the art and revolution expressionism art. The scene where she is lay down with a skeleton in top of her was shocking for me. The representation of this is how you end, or this what is inside of you, and it is no different from everybody else, it is overwhelmed. Marina Abramovic pushed her limits in this film. She used her body to convey her ideas. I am no comfortable with this type of art, because is challenging. The feelings of the artist and the participant are involved and that is why is called The Artist is Present. She is putting her body in front of the audience as a media to communicate her feelings. I think the film is extremely provocative. It challenges to feel pain, discomfort, vulnerability, and exposure in her performances. It challenges your mind.
Victoria: In my opinion, with the film, “The Artist is Present”, I feel a corresponding negative and positive emotion. Negative in the way as some of Marina Abramović’s works were very unnecessary or they had no reason. However, in a positive way, as the film showed different works, I was very engaged as to what she was going to do next. Every one of her works is very different and unique compared to other pieces.
I did find some of the works to be odd. Out of all of the different and odd performances the film showed, I found the masked naked women dancing was quite disturbing. When the film first showed it, I thought it was a film from a kidnapper or torture. As the man was going through her different rhymes/shows I also found it a bit uncomfortable when she considered hurting and pricking her finger as art, especially when the needle got dangerously close to her eye. Lastly, I found it very uncomfortable when the exhibit forced the viewer to squeeze through two naked people.
Sadly in general, I never liked performance art. In addition, while viewing Marina Abramović’s works of art, I feel like the distance has increased. When viewing the video Murakami, ‘Passage’” for a lesson, I had thought it was nonsense as the man was just running through paper for no reason. I have the same feeling with Abramović’s art.
Though, my favorite part was knowing and understanding Marina Abramović’s love life. When Ulay sat across from her, although there were no words at first, the viewer can feel the supporting and worrying presence. This was a bittersweet as they had solemnly connected in front of a live audience.

Write a view point, (2-3 paragraphs in length), related to the statement provided below;

“Gun ownership is a right guaranteed by the U.S. constitution. No health agency study should threaten this basic right of U.S. citizens.”

Any research should focus strictly on mental health issues! Also I have provided two articles you may use as a reference

Experimental Design – Synthesis

OVERVIEW______________________________________________________________
This document contains the synthesis questions for the LAB SimUText Experimental Design assignment. You will submit this document to the LAB SimUText Experimental Design Synthesis Canvas assignment page. Before completing this submission please:
• review the LAB SimUText Experimental Design Instructions and Background document
• complete LAB SimUText Experimental Design Part 1, Sections 1, 2, and 3 in SimUText
• and have your screenshots from LAB SimUText Experimental Design Part 1 Section 2 ready to paste
Part 2. LAB SimUText Experimental Design – Synthesis____________________________

Section 1 – Data tables
S1.1. Paste a screenshot of your data screen for your first experiment in Part 1 Section 2 here and write a descriptive caption. Make sure it is big enough we can read it. (4 pts)
Table S1.1 Type caption here

S1.2. Paste a screenshot of your data screen for your second experiment in Part 1 Section 2 here and write a descriptive caption. Make sure it is big enough we can read it. (4 pts)
Table S1.2 Type caption here

Section 2 – Report to the Town of Idyllic
S2.1.There is a form letter for your report below. If you did more than two experiments, add another paragraph to the methods for each additional experiment. (12 pts, 0.5 pts per bracket)
 Wherever you see [red brackets], you need to type an answer. Please keep your answers in RED text, or at least a different color; it makes it easier for your grader to read.
Dear Town of Idyllic,
My research into the effects of herbicides and parasites on the health of Simploids indicates [type conclusion here]. Based on these results, I recommend you take the following actions to improve and protect the health of Simploids in your community:
[type recommendations here].
I came to this conclusion by conducting the following experiments.
My first experiment tested […] by experimentally changing […] and observing the effects on […]. To control for confounding factors, the experiment included […] simploids and […] plants in each plot. This experiment demonstrated that […]. This conclusion is supported by the data shown in Table S2.1. As you can see, study plot numbers […] contained no […] and were controls. Study plots numbers […] contained […] and were the experimental treatments to test the effect of […] on […]. After […] weeks you can see between (enter the minimum number and maximum number from your plots) […] and […] simploids died and between […] and […] simploids were ill. Simploid blood toxicity was between […] and […], and mean parasite load was between […] and […] indicating that the presence of […] was affecting the simploids even if they did not sicken or die. A longer experiment may be needed to make further conclusions.
My second experiment tested […] by experimentally changing […] and observing the effects on […]. To control for confounding factors, the experiment included […] simploids and […] plants in each plot. This experiment demonstrated that […]. This conclusion is supported by the data shown in Table S2.2. As you can see, study plot numbers […] contained no […] and were controls. Study plots numbers […] contained […] and were the experimental treatments to test the effect of […] on […]. After […] weeks you can see between […] and […] simploids died and between […] and […] simploids were ill. Simploid blood toxicity was between […] and […], and mean parasite load was between […] and […] indicating that the presence of […] was affecting the simploids even if they did not sicken or die. A longer experiment may be needed to make further conclusions.
Taken together, the results of these experiments indicate that [restate conclusion here] is the cause of Simploid sickness in the town of Idyllic.

 End of Part 2 of the LAB – proceed to Part 3 Extra Credit

Part 3. Extra Credit (10 pts)
EC.1 (2 pts)
Table EC.1 Type caption here

EC.2 How do the results differ from your previous experiments? Be specific and use examples for credit. (4 pts)
Type answer here

EC.3 Now revise your letter to the town of Idyllic below to reflect this new information. (4 pts)
