Overview
Appreciative inquiry is a newer tool OD practitioners use to help facilitate change.  Our text discusses the 5-D approach to using appreciative inquiry.  The 5-D model can be leveraged for creating positive change within the organization.  The first 4-D’s are:

Discovery
Dream
Design
Delivery
For an OD it is important to use the fifth D, Define.  This is the key for OD practitioners to help them clearly and effectively communicate the changes and different states within a project.  Rothwell, Stavros, and Sullivan, 2016 state “In this phase, the guiding question is, “What generative topic do we want to focus on together?” This phase often involves reframing or clarifying a pressing organizational issue into opportunity areas for further inquiry.

W4 R1 Nursing Foundations, health and medical assignment help

I need to respond to my classmates posting below. APA format, 2 simple paragraphs, 5-7 sentences each paragraph. at least 2 references no more than 5 years old. You can use the same two references if you want. I just need to respond to my classmates posting below for participation points.

My classmates response: The peer reviewed article of choice is, ” Drug abuse staff and clients smoking together: A shared
addiction.” This article was found in the Journal of Substance Abuse Treatment and retrieved from
the Walden University library. The article was among thousands of articles that came up when I
searched for a “peer reviewed” article and I chose it because this is one of the big issues facing the
country (mental health). Though my search was on “peer review”, the article was showing tobacco,
nicotine, drug treatment and policy as the keywords used for their search.
“Scholarly or peer-reviewed journal articles are written by scholars or professionals who are experts
in their fields. In the sciences and social sciences, they often publish research results.” (Cornell
University)
This article was based on the practice of clients and employees of drug-abused treatment
centers smoking together. The survey showed that where smoking together was higher, the clients
received fewer tobacco services and clients have lower intention to quit smoking. The general
conclusion was that the practice should end, in the interest of client health.
Reading through the body of the article, I was not sure of the stand of the author, whether in
support of the practice or against it. It is a big challenge trying to educate the educators (nurses and
healthcare workers) that they need to practice what they preach by not smoking; but to actually be
smoking 1:1 with the patient is belittling ourselves and the profession. How can we in all honesty
advise patient on their health when we are guilty of the same?
