Prepare a written assessment to address the following:

Indicate whether this approach was appropriate or effective. Provide examples to support your thoughts.
Identify at least one potential threat to the internal validity of this study. Then, explain how you might work around this or improve upon this study with this specific issue in mind.
Conclude with a discussion on the issue of external validity within the study. Explain whether this is a concern.
Determine how you might work around this issue if you were to redo the study. Explain how you would prepare your conclusions.

Support your assignment with at least three scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including seminal articles, may be included.

Length: 5-7 pages, not including title and reference pages

ENG 102 – 1002 Synthesis 01

Write a synthesis of the articles in this week’s reading.

You get one page and only one page for these syntheses, so you’ll have to be succinct. In addition to your one-page discussion, you should have a Works Cited List, although it will probably list only the two works in question. You need this because you may need to take quotes, summaries, or paraphrases from either work, and we need to know which you’re working with. For purposes of the Works Cited List, treat each essay as an item within an anthology.

Summary and analysis essay

Write a summary and analysis essay of 600+ words (word count only includes the essay itself) and 5+ paragraphs total. The essay must include the following.

Paragraph 1 –> Summary section: Begin with 1 paragraph summarizing the article. Do not include any of your opinions in this section. (The summary replaces the introduction.)

Paragraphs 2-4 –> Analysis section: After the summary section, write 3+ paragraphs analyzing and responding to the source. These paragraphs should include at least two quotations from the source. Your analysis should follow the instructions attached to your chosen article.

Paragraph 5 –> Conclusion paragraph: End the essay with a conclusion paragraph that reminds the reader of your overall thesis and offers any last thoughts on the article.

Works Cited Page: Include a works cited page with an entry that follows MLA guidelines. Each article’s correct works cited entry is listed on the page MLA Format for Quotations and the Works Cited Page

Requirements for Using Sources

You must use one of the sources listed above.
You must include at least two quotations in the analysis section of the essay. You are welcome to include more than two quotations, but the majority of the essay should be in your own words.
For each quotation, include a lead-in that names the person speaking or creates some context for the quote. Put quotation marks around the exact words you quote and around the title of the source.
You must include a works cited page with an entry for your source.
See the instructions for quoting and the works cited entry on the page MLA Format for Quotations and the Works Cited Page.

Important Grading Notes:

If you only use one quote in the body paragraphs, your essay cannot make higher than a D.
Failure to include any quotes and/or a works cited page will result in an automatic F.

MLA Essay Format:
The essay should be at least five paragraphs long, have a minimum of 600+ words, and demonstrate correct grammar. You must also do the following:

Use Times New Roman twelve point font
Double-space
Create one-inch margins
Insert your last name and page numbers at the top, right-hand corner of the page
Put your name, my name (Mrs. Speights), your class section, and the date at the top, left-hand corner of the page
