Then, as you saw/heard in the two interviews with August Wilson, music (blues) was hugely influential in his life. Therefore, in what ways does music play a role in Fences? How is music used both as a literal (the songs the characters sing) and figurative (symbolism, metaphor, language and writing style—syntax) device in the play? Also, is there a type of music or specific band or artist that has influenced you in some way? Feel free to provide a link to a song if you like.

Study plan

This problem set uses the same dataset as before, MSLGrades.xls, with the student information. We will use Statcrunch to perform all statistical analyses on the dataset. Open the MSLGrades.xls dataset in Statcrunch. Copy and paste all output into the document. Make sure to answer all questions fully.
At the beginning of the semester, it is suggested that you spend 30 minutes per day on your study plan or 150 minutes per week.
1.)Perform a hypothesis test to test whether average weekly time spent on the study plan is less than 150 minutes per week. Use an α=0.05.
a.)Write the hypotheses in symbol notation.
b.)Paste the output for the hypothesis test from Stat Crunch below. Circle the p-value.
c.)Write the probability statement for your p-value with the correct.
d.)Make your decision.
e.)Draw conclusions.
2.)Looking at the sample mean, is there practical significance? Write a sentence explaining your results as if you were explaining to a peer.

The Sixth Extinction by Elizabeth Kolbert

These questions are based on Chapter 3 and 4 of the book (I can provide all the pictures from both chapters but I would prefer to work with a tutor that already has knowledge in this book or even better if he has the book): The Sixth Extinction by Elizabeth Kolbert: https://blackboard.sc.edu/webapps/blackboard/content/listContent.jsp?course_id=_1100077_1&content_id=_14762035_1&mode=reset#
In Chapter 3, Kolbert discusses the great auk, a large flightless bird that went extinct as a result of being over-hunted by humans. Then, in Chapter 4, Kolbert writes about the Cretaceous-Tertiary mass extinction event and the controversy surrounding its initial explanation. In that extinction event, according to Walter Alvarez, many species were wiped off the face of the Earth, including the ammonites, a species that seemed to be fit for survival until an asteroid hit the Yucatan peninsula and caused worldwide repercussions.

Obviously, one of these extinctions is the direct result of humans, while the other is the direct result of something much greater than humans. Does Kolbert have to work harder to convince you of one over the other? What types of evidence does she bring in to support her position in each chapter?

Finally, which of these two is more concerning to you – the extinction caused by humans or the extinction caused by outside forces – and why?
