Thoughtful responses to classmate

Classmate #1-

I think the two mistakes that I’m most likely to make are conceptual and transcription errors. Trying to learn various concepts and formulas can sometimes be a lot and some of them I may confuse for another or miss a step in a process. To avoid making these mistakes I try to do a lot of repetition of the concepts and steps until I get comfortable with it before moving on rather than trying to learn multiple concepts at a time. Sometimes I create mnemonics to keep track of steps. It worked when I was kid and my 10 year old uses them so they can work for me.
The other one tends to be transcription errors. I usually do fine at first, but the more I work on problems I’ve noticed that sometimes I tend to start writing some of the problem incorrectly or part of the answer incorrectly. I noticed it last night going through ALEKS as well. After about two hours of going through concepts and problems I noticed that I started switching some of the digits which threw my answers off. The steps were right, but the transcription error still effected the answers. I think to avoid this, I just have to pay more attention to detail and perhaps work a few more breaks into my study and practice time.

Classmate #2-

I often forget how to add and subtract positive and negative numbers. I’m certain the reason I forget is because I almost never have to add/subtract negative numbers. Also, if for some reason I do have to add/subtract negative numbers, I use the calculator on my phone.
I know the reason for my error is a calculation error. I know how to add and subtract just fine, but when I see the negative sign I forget what the rule is for add/subtracting negative numbers.
I find myself having to watch a video or read some examples to refresh my memory as I did during the first week in Consumer Math 1. So for now, I have committed to memory that two like signs become a positive sign and two unlike signs become a negative sign.

Mediation and Arbitration

Write a paper that compares mediation and arbitration by explaining the function, role, and effectiveness of each in resolving conflicts.  Further compare the two conflict resolution methods by discussing the types of disputes that can be utilized by mediation and arbitration, and include examples. Finally, explain the drawbacks to using each conflict resolution method.

As part of this assignment, you must also visit the American Arbitration Association (Links to an external site.) website and explain what this organization does. Examine how the AAA could be used either in your current career, or in a career that you seek to pursue.

The paper must be three to five pages in length (excluding the title and reference pages) and formatted according to APA style. You must use at least two scholarly resources other than the textbook to support your claims and sub claims. Cite your resources in text and on the reference page.

Miles Davis, Blue in Green (Miles Davis and Bill Evans), New York, March 2, 1959.  Miles Davis (t); John Coltrane (ts); Bill Evans (p); Paul Chambers (b); Jimmy Cobb (d)
There is an introduction, how many bars is it? The melody, or head, begins at 00:18 and ends at 01:44.  What is the form?  This piece presents a type of form that has only 1 section.  How many bars is it?  The tempo of this piece is rather slow.  Hint:  Davis plays through the form two times between 00:18 and 01:44.  Describe how Davis phrases and interprets the melody.  Does it sound like he is playing a written part or is he taking liberties?  Is his style of play different from other trumpet players like Dizzy Gillespie or Louis Armstrong?  Describe.  When Evans begins his solo at 01:45 the chord changes become double-timed. This means the chords are played twice as fast even though the bass and drums keep the same tempo and quarter note.  Keeping this in mind, how many choruses does Evans play?  The double-time continues for Coltranes solo, how many choruses does he play?  At 03:09 to 03:29 Evans solos on the chord progression at quadruple-time (chords are played 4 times as fast as the original progression).  His solo leads back to Davis where the quadruple-time ends and the melody is played.  How many bars is this section?  What are the general characteristics of this piece that are different from the bebop and other hard bop groups we have heard?

I have attached an example for this task
