DISCUSSION BOARD-REPLY TO STUDENT (GLOBALIZATION)

NEED A REPLY TO THE STUDENT REGARDING GLOBALIZATION.  AT LEAST ONE REFERENCE APA STYLE
Hello Professor Durish and classmates,
Hope everyone is doing great.
Globalization is about the interconnectedness of people and businesses across the world that eventually leads to global cultural, political and economic integration. It is the ability to move and communicate easily with others all over the world in order to conduct business internationally.
I believe there are benefits and losses of globalization. As per the article on Globalization and Employment, globalization generates losses as well as gains. (Lee, 1996).
With globalization, social activities take place irrespective of the geographical location of participants via telecommunication, digital computers, audiovisuals media, that can occur almost simultaneously anywhere and everywhere in the world, as we see right now during the Covid-19 pandemic, how the world has adjusted to doing business virtually. (Scheuerman, 2002).
One of the challenges of globalization is the fear of unemployment. There is apprehension that increasing imports from low-wage countries have been destroying manufacturing jobs, especially in labor-intensive sectors. (Lee,1996). Someones fear, is another mans joy, because to those importing from low-wage countries, it is a huge savings to them.
For instance, I have a Fruits and Vegetable business here in New Jersey. The fruits and vegetables are dried and milled into powder and we sell online and at different event festivals. (which unfortunately, due to covid, we have not been able to attend). Well, my plan before covid, to manufacture my products by end of the year in Nigeria where labor and products will be cheaper as compared to here in the States. By so doing, I will be providing jobs for some people out there and saving myself some money. Though most of the products I planned to sell in Nigeria and ship some back here after weighting all my options.
The company I intern with are global. It is an agency that cares for seniors in the comfort of their hoes. Most of their staffs are Spanish people, so I will say for sure the ethnic makeup of associates is global and so are the people they care. During meetings, I have heard discussions on patient requesting for Spanish speaking staff.
Therefore, globalization has some benefits and some challenges. With globalization came the attack of terrorism, of which we saw the 9/11 attack.

INTERNSHIP-DISCUSSION BOARD RESPONSE TO PROFSSOR

Below is a listing that I am offering to all classmates as “food for thought,” some of which you may have already mentioned.
Here are a few more things to consider: (playing the devil’s advocate here)
Do you believe that globalization is a necessary evil? That people are becoming one and losing their individuality? That US citizens are losing jobs to outsourcing and relocation? That the rich are becoming richer in third-world countries? That the money is not trickling down to those who need it most? That most countries need more schools and hospitals rather than McDonald’s?
Which do you support–lower-priced items from other countries, or do you pay a little more for American made? Is the money for imported goods distributed to those who need it most? Do American workers lose jobs because of foreign products due to the low cost of that product, outsourcing, or companies relocating? Is it worth it to pay a little more for the American brand in order to help our citizens and our economy?
Should the US be the first country to always come to the aid of other countries’ disasters? Is our help appreciated or even wanted? Shouldn’t we help our own first?
Does globalization increase the importation of inferior and even dangerous products, especially since there are not enough inspectors available to inspect imports properly?
some negatives (think, also, of this current pandemic).
Disadvantages of Globalization
There are cons of globalization are as follows:
Many people from developed nations are losing jobs and that is posing a problem for them since the companies are outsourcing work to developing countries since the cost of labor is low and profits the company considerably.
There is immense pressure on the employed people of developed countries who are always under the threat of their jobs being outsourced.
Corporations are building up units in other countries that are equally well equipped, thus transferring the quality to other countries.
There are some experts who think that globalization along with the positive aspects is also leading to the incursion of negatives like communicable diseases and social degeneration.
There is also a threat of corporates ruling the world because there is a lot of power and money invested by them due to globalization.
For nations that are at the receiver’s end are also giving up the reins in the ends of a foreign company which might again lead to a sophisticated form of colonization.
Globalization may lead to loss of cultural identity as Western ideas are always imposed upon the Eastern thoughts.

Liver Allocation Mechanisms and System Design

Write a paper that introduces the market you picked for your project (8-15 main text pages – as with previous assignments, the content should determine length; 11-12pt standard font, 1 inch margins, double-spaced; title page, bibliography, and appendix separate page count).

Follow this structure (discuss with me early if you would like to use a different structure):

Provide an introduction that places the market in its economic context (what industry, what product, etc.) and discuss its importance; you may want to include a short historical section, if relevant. The introduction should be accessible to someone who is not an economist.
After the introduction include a short section on the literature – present the main results you have gleaned from the scholarly articles you have read (alternatively, but generally not recommended: you can also include those results carefully throughout the essay, if you prefer).
Then add a revised version of the market description you prepared for 6/19 and the presentation taking into account feedback you received.
Next add a thorough analysis of the market design features using the criteria we have used in class when analyzing different market designs. Discuss what features works and what challenges exist. If you have any suggestions of how to improve/change the market add them here. Also discuss why the specific market design is or possibly is not appropriate for this market.
End with a conclusion that summarizes what the most interesting features are about your market and what lessons you have learnt.
Include all sources you use in a bibliography that you include at the end of the paper – follow a consistent bibliographic system (APA or MLA recommended). Make sure you correctly quote and attribute throughout – let me know if you have any questions. Also include any background material that is not directly relevant in the paper but useful as reference as an appendix after the bibliography (for instance, if you have some key numbers or tables, that you sparingly use during the paper, or an extra graph for illustration, etc.).
