The development and maintenance of collaborative relationships.

Written and oral communication skills in order to serve as an effective health resource person as
well as facilitate development and maintenance of collaborative relationships.
Description of the Signature Assignment
As a future Health Educator it is important to know how to obtain and disseminate
Health-Related Information. Serving as a public health resource requires one to know how to
identify valid and reliable online sources such as health related databases, disease specific sites,
health related organizations and research found in journal articles. This assignment will require
students to use the internet to find valid and reliable Health Education/Promotion Information as
well as present their findings to the class.
Directions for Students
There are three parts to this assignment: a two page narrative, oral video presentation (must
watch all of your peers presentations) and develop 1 slide with 5
interesting facts which you will also include in the discussion titled
“Internet Assignment.”
● 2 Page Narrative: 7 points
o Select a health related Internet site that is .gov, .org, and .edu ONLY (NOT an
online article, but a health website) and write a two-page narrative paper
describing this site, be sure to include the following 6 points:
▪ The address of the site,
▪ Explain what the site is about,
▪ The layout and types of topics are included on this site
▪ Reasons this site is valid based on what you learned in chapter 9
▪ Description of links reached from this site and
▪ Description of how a health educator could use this site.
● Oral Video Presentation: 7 points
o Prepare a short oral report explaining the site to the class. Your video should
include you naming and describing the internet site and 5 interesting facts about
the site (on your PowerPoint slide). It should be available on YouTube and the
link copy and pasted onto a new thread in the discussion titled “internet
assignment.” 2-3 minutes presentation. You can do a screen record from your
laptop but you will LOSE POINTS if you record your laptop screen with your
phone. This makes your video look shaky and unprofessional. Most computers
and laptops have built in screen recorders that will do the job for you.

Q1. In the earlier part of the movie, it is outlined that the starting salary for the workers at Assan Motors is $8.75, while they used to receive $11.50. So, the wage for the factory workers at Hadleyville (a fictional town), Pennsylvania, has decreased. Why can this be the case? Provide your answer from the economics model of pay perspective that you learned in Module 2. In other words, you MUST use the concept(s) ‘demand of labor’ and/or ‘supply of labor’ in writing your answer to this question. If you have forgotten the concepts related to the economics model of pay, re-visit Video 1 in Module 2. (10 points)

Q2. In the middle of the movie, Hunt Stevenson (employee liaison) and Takahara Kazihiro (plant manager) make a deal for a pay raise of American workers if 15,000 or more cars are produced in a month. However, Hunt Stevenson had to lie to the workers that there will be a partial raise when 13,000 or more cars are produced in a month. Why was this the case? Provide your answer utilizing the Expectancy Theory. In other words, you MUST use the concept(s) valence, instrumentality, and/or expectancy in writing your answer to this question. If you have forgotten the concepts related to the Expectancy Theory, re-visit Video 2 in Module 5. (10 points)

Q3. Watch the video Examining the Differences in National Culture through Hofstede Insights (Modules > Module 14 > Required Videos). Now, go to the Hofstede Insights webpage and compare the national culture of the United States and Japan. Fill in the table below with the scores that you observe at the webpage for the six cultural dimensions of the two countries. For example, the Long Term Orientation score for the U.S. and Japan should be 26 and 88, respectively.

Data sets/questions

Professors Instructions:
Some of the first questions we encounter have to do with what human geography is, what are geographic questions and how do geographers use maps. I think that by considering the following hypothetical situation you might be able to place these questions in a more tangible context. Imagine that you have the job of finding new CVS locations in town (just what we need – more CVS’s!). What are some questions you might ask and geographic data sets that might help with this task.
