Application Of Opportunity Lenses

Application of Opportunity Lenses

The focus of this assignment is the application of nine lenses of opportunity to a case study organization. Start the assignment with selecting an organization (Netflix, Inc.) that uses strategic opportunities for innovation. The goal of the assignment is to submit a course project that analyzes a publicly traded organization through the nine lenses of opportunity mapping. In the introduction of the paper briefly identify and describe your company of choice and the industry in which it operates and explain your rationale for selecting it. Your rationale should include an analysis of how the organization fits with innovative models, approaches, leadership, and the use of strategic assumptions. Be sure to provide APA citations and references to support on the discussion of the organization and industry.

The lenses are:

  1. Product and service innovation
  2. Customer interaction innovation
  3. Disruptive innovation
  4. Business model innovation
  5. Messaging innovation
  6. Business (enabling) ecosystem innovation
  7. Competency platform innovation
  8. Alliances, acquisitions, and collaboration innovation
  9. Global market innovation

This paper is to assess how each of the lenses could or currently does apply and what is the relative riskresources expendedversus potential revenue and profit. All lenses may not apply; if they do not, why? In each case, begin with the theory behind the lens followed by your application to the selected case study organization. Keep in mind the implications of sustainability:

  1. The enduring nature of the opportunities.
  2. How the opportunities reflect the impact of environmental concerns.

In your submission, be sure to explain why this organization is a good fit for applying innovative models and lenses and evaluates the fit of leadership approaches.

Sample opportunity map attached.

The last step is to create an opportunity map demonstrating the lenses, using the Sample Opportunity Map as a guide. The opportunity map plots opportunities over time (X-axis) compared to potential impact on the business (Y-axis) divided in three primary sections:

  1. In the businessincremental.
  2. On the businessnew offering or value proposition.
  3. Out of the businessredefines the business or category.

Nursing Professional Roles and Values

The Task Instructions file that I will be sending will include the Rubric for which I will be graded.  The instructions include using the following Web Links for information: Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and Food and Drug Administration.  I have had terrible experiences so far with essay writing services and pray that this is different.  I ask that you section the paper as in the Rubric.  Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.

Understanding the Frustrating Paradox of Mandated Human Collaboration

Teachers instructions:
Your job is to make sure these pieces stand up to scrutiny. As I mentioned before, it is never pleasant to attack someones work or to receive anonymous criticism, but this process is the only reason why science can claim privileged access to knowledge. Think of it as a game in which both the attacking and the defending teams ultimately work toward the same goal of finding the truth.

Some things to consider when reviewing your peers research:

Does the study ask a clear why? question, and does it provide a convincing answer? Do the conclusions of the authors follow from the facts that they present?
Is the proposed theory general enough? Does it explain things other than the stated question?
Are factual statements supported by evidence where needed? Are there any omissions of facts that might change the conclusions?
Where facts are used to support theories, are alternatives and reference points considered? For example, gun rights advocates often cite studies that show that violent video games may in some cases increase aggression. These studies are used to support a theory that the epidemic of gun violence in America is due to videogames. However, this theory is clearly invalidated by comparing America to many other countries where there is no gun violence even though people play a lot of videogames. Facts are therefore meaningless without context.
In what situation would the authors theory prove false? In other words, could the authors in principle be wrong? This property of scientific theories is known as falsifiability. If a theory cannot in principle be invalidated (falsified), it is not scientific. That does not mean it is automatically wrong, just that it cannot be used to argue with the evidence. For example, many religious theories are unfalsifiable: you cannot prove that there is no God because God is by definition unknowable, and anything that happens in the world is by definition consistent with his existence. Many theories proposed by Donald Trump are also unfalsifiable: you cannot prove him wrong because there will always be an explanation for why he is right. This may seem counterintuitive, but what distinguishes the scientific way of thinking is asking how can I be wrong? instead of how can I be right?

Because peer review is private and anonymous, I can only give you examples from my own experience. I have therefore uploaded to Resources two of my recent scientific papers. For each of the papers, I have included a file with the comments received from reviewers and another with rebuttals of those comments (you will have to do this in the next phase of this project).

With that in mind, RIP THEM APART!

In your own words, answer this discussion questions  (recommended minimum 300 words)

When making the determination of whether or not a selling price should be increased there are many different aspects to take into consideration. Paulsen Company sells only one product. The regular selling price is $50. Variable costs are 70% of this selling price, and fixed costs are $7,500 per month.

Management decides to increase the selling price from $50 to $55 per unit. Assume that the cost of the product and the fixed operating expenses are not changed by this pricing decision. In a response of 400-600 words answer the following:

  1. What cost-volume relationships should Paulsen take into consideration for the original price and the proposed new selling price?
  2. Discuss the non-monetary factors that should be taken into consideration before raising a selling price.
