The Many Faces Of Attachment

 

Do you remember how you felt, as a small child, when you missed the person to whom you were closest? Have you observed a content baby starting to fuss or cry when handed to a stranger? Are you surprised how vividly you, or other adults you know, remember events from early years that involve separation or loss? The powerful implications of early attachments continue to draw researchers from such various disciplines as child development, early childhood education, clinical psychology, pediatrics, sociology, and anthropology. The more we learn about attachment, the more we come to understand not only its far-reaching effects on human development but, also, the many faces of attachment in the early years.

This week, you studied various forms of early attachment, the importance of secure loving relationships for healthy development, and the long-term consequences of problematic early attachments. For a visual reminder of early bonding and attachment behaviors, review the course media for this week.

From the following variety of topics/concepts related to attachment, select one that attracts you strongly and/or stirs your curiosity:

  • Synchrony
  • Secure attachment
  • Social referencing
  • Attachment and prosocial behavior/empathy in young children
  • Attachment and emotion regulation in young children
  • Attachment and the development of spirituality in children

Next, conduct research on your topic/concept:

  • Search the library for scholarly articles that provide further information about your chosen concept.
  • Search the Internet for additional resources.
  • From all resources you reviewed, select three that you find most relevant. At least two sources must be from scholarly journals.
  • Study and reflect on the additional information you found.

By Day 3

Post:

  • A brief description of the concept you chose and why you chose it
  • Citations for the three resources you selected, in APA format
  • At least one insight, fact, or new learning from each of the resources
  • A personal reflection including:
    • Anything that surprised you and/or dispelled an assumption
    • The additional information you found important, noteworthy, and/or unusual

Instructions

This week, you focused on scope, stakeholders, and project management knowledge areas.  Your assignments concentrated on activities required to initiate and plan a project.  Scope constraints have a major impact on healthcare and project management. 

For this assignment, you will create project goals and scope, the first of the key components of a Project Management Plan, by identifying a problem in your community, an issue in a healthcare organization you currently work for or are affiliated with, or select a project topic from case studies from the Institute for Health Improvement.

Be sure to address the following:

  1. Provide a brief background of the problem
  2. Offer the rationale for choosing the topic or case study
  3. Describe the need to apply a project management approach to solve the problem
  4. Discuss the pros and cons of applying this project management approach to this problem, and
  5. Describe the project goals and scope 

It is recommended that you use the project management plan template as a guide that is attached.  You will also use this template for your Week 2 and Week 8 assignments. 

Length: Include a minimum of 3 pages not including title page and reference page.

References: Include a minimum of 5 scholarly articles. 

Your paper should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course by providing new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic.  

Your response should reflect graduate-level writing and APA standards.

Family problems

Is the American family the cornerstone of society and have stability, support and values?  Many families have disruption and lack of emotional support.

After Reading Chapter 12-13 reviewing the information and watching the videos “Child Abuse/ Domestic Violence”,”American Heart Association’s Life Simple 7 Factors that Impact Health and Quality of Life” and “Hospice Care”in the Instructional Materials, address the issues below. You MUST include a fallacy and current event in each discussion. You MUST write at least 2 paragraphs of at least 3-5 detailed sentences in each paragraph every discussion post.

A. Discuss an example of a family problem and the impact it has on their quality of life. Provide one support resource from one of these area: Local, State, National or Global organizations you would suggest to assist people in the area of Family Problems.

B. What support is available to the patient, with a physical and mental illness, and the caregiver to improve their quality of life? Provide one support resource from one of these area: Local, State, National or Global organizations you would suggest to assist people in the area of Health Care.

  2. Describe specifically how this project meets  the definition of a project used in this textbook. (How is it unique? What      were the time constraints? If it is over, how did you know it was over? If      it is ongoing, how will you know when it is over? 
  3. What was your role? Were you the project      manager, a volunteer, some other role? If you were not the project      manager, who was? 
  4. Was the project part of a larger portfolio or      program of projects? 
  5. Who else was involved? 
  6. What was the budget?  
  7.  Did you anticipate any risks at the outset? Did the project experience any outside forces that caused a change in either the objectives or the approach to achieving those objectives?
