Assume DFL Bank’s total trading portfolio consists of derivatives, stocks and bond instruments and only considers risk arising from FX, IR and EQ risk factors and reporting Currency is in USD.

The worksheet: RFSeries contains historical riskfactor scenario time series of all risk factors, including IR, EQ, FX risk factors (risk factor symbols are consistent to my class notes). In the worksheet: RFSeries, the 3rd row contains Base scenario (i.e. risk factors’ values as of today), 4th row contains the past one day historical observations, 5th row contains the past two days historical observations, etc. There are 76 historical observations in total. IR series are returns per annual.

Task:
    This task is about making the most of the visual medium of a flyer to refute and warn against an example of bad science related to food or medicine. Imagine you are producing it to distribute around the university as a public information sheet. You should try to persuade the reader based on evidence, making reference to reliable scientific research.

Instructions:

1. Choose your topic (placebos are useless)
2. research both the doubtful claims made and what reliable science says.
3. You should say / show how the bad science is wrong / unhelpful / harmful.
4. it should be A4 size (just using one side)
5. You can use news items as sources but you should include at least one academic journal article amongst your sources. (IMPORTANT)
6. References should be included in a list at the bottom.

Requirements:

-A headline: like a news article, a flyer needs an attention-grabbing headline.
-A brief explanation of what the bad science claims
-Your refutation of it. You can use bullets, numbered points or short paragraphs / text boxes
-Not too much text approx. 270 words including references
-You can use diagrams, photos, charts, graphs, etc. if appropriate.

All students should participate in this disucssion thread about the readings for week 11. comment 1 : Diversity and inclusion are two of the most essential needs between community members.  Perhaps the most easy way to promote these feelings within a community is incorporating an open-communication flow, allowing people to feel empowered with their voice. Leaders , when  transparent with their communication, can show groups their importance. as part of the whole. When these tools are done effectively, groups understand their roles, importance and feel gratification from their respective roles/contributions.
comment2: For this discussion post I decided to focus on difference creates community.  Something I found interesting when reading this is that humans are able to create different communities throughout various social interactions that will eventually unfold which means a community is not neutral.  It is important to have lots of different diversity within a community as well.  The city of Springfield has a hard time getting minorities to join their community due to their history.  Springfield was knows to hang people in the town square and a lot of people were turned off by that.  It is important people are able to feel comfortable and safe in the community they live in.
