Pygmalion Character Analysis

Pick any character from the section of reading I have provided.  Evaluate the character’s nature and effect of his actions on plot and theme.

The following notes are provided by the teacher for what he is looking for.

1.  Read provided papers and ask yourself – How does author reveal character.
2.  Choose a character that stands out:
    a.  Moral nature
    b.  Influence – How doe they influence others and how does others influence them.
    c.  Symbolism
    d.  Purpose
3.  Plan your Analysis
    a. Write thesis
    b.  Gather support
          1. 3 quotations/ examples PER point (3 points)  Quotations can be part of a sentence, it doesn’t have to be the entire sentence.

Why did the character act the way they did?
What type of person is the character?  Likable or unlikable
How do other’s view the character?

Format of the case report: 5-10 pages (Times New Roman 12 font size 1.5 line spacing) including exhibits that support your analysis. You are judged on the thoroughness, accuracy and relevancy of your analysis. Analysis and discussion should be based on the information and data provided in the report.

Disaster and Emergency Management

Please answer the three questions…
1–There continues to be an increasing need for emergency management, especially with the increasing number of mass casualty events. Using the course material or other resources, what do you think are the Top 3 things necessary for emergency preparedness and response? Please explain your selections.

2–How do you think the psychological effects of a terrorist-generated disaster impact the response? Give reasons for your response.

3–Emergency preparedness and disaster response have significantly improved post 11 September 2001. One major improvement has been the increased use of the Incident Command System. How has the Incident Command System improved the emergency response to large-scale emergencies and mass casualties?

Critical Book Review (200-300 pages)

A brief review of any book (that is tasteful – not nasty, vulgar, racist, etc.) that is 200-300 pages in length.
