Identify the specific brand and category of the product/category that your want to follow. It is preferable that this brand has been around in the market for at least 5 years so that you have significant information available online about the history and performance over the years. For example, you cannot just say Pepsi Co., you need to specify that your chosen brand would be Aquafina, from the purified water product category. This will focus your data collection and making the connections that you need to make to consumer behavior concepts.

1.    Brand and product category chosen and why that specific one (1 to 2 pages)
2.    History of the company and brand in particular (2 pages max)
3.    behavioral marketing  terms/concepts that relate to your brand and how and why (1 page for every concept with evidence, APA style in-text citations)

Research strategy and study design are critical in epidemiology. Your final proposal should be in the format of 1-inch margins and 12 point font (not including references, tables or figures).

The proposal should include the following components:
1)Specific aims of the proposed research

2) Background and significance
– motivation for the research question and its relevance to public health/health sciences
– summary of existing research and knowledge.

3) Research design and methods
– study design
– how subjects would be identified and recruited
– data source(s)
– nature of any intervention
– proposed analysis strategy

4) References

You are also encouraged to include tables, figures or diagrams in an Appendix section, as appropriate.
If tables, figures of diagrams are from previously published material or if they are not your own creation, you must cite the origin of the material

Writing for the web

This week you watched an entire video course on ways to optimize your online writing (Learning To Write For The Web with Chris Nodder). 

Identify a concept or two in this video course that particularly resonated with you and write about it.  Do you have personal experience with website design, blog writing or other types of online writing?  Have you had frustrating experiences with websites?  Why was this so? Was there something in the course you disagreed with?

Segregation and Accomodation

After 1877, white southerners regained control of the South. Using violence and intimidation, they systematically stripped the blacks of many of the rights they should have had. Blacks were disenfranchised despite the 15th Amendment. Jim Crow laws were passed that regulated every aspect of their lives. Lynching and violence became a fact of every day life.

Yet, despite all of this, there was some progress made. Booker T. Washington and his Tuskegee Institute believed that if black people acquired skills in manual labor, they could advance themselves. However, others like W.E.B. Dubois disagreed and believed in intellectual growth to confront racial problems. Other institutions, most especially churches, are still vitally important to the black community today. They gave solace and filled a very important spiritual need.

Answer both questions below. Each response must be a minimum of 250 words.
1. Discuss what life was like for black southerners during this time period using the information above as your guideline.
2.  Discuss the difference between the ideas of Washington and DuBois. Address specifically their differences in backgrounds and methods.
