QI Patient Care Quality and Safety Project

Find a process at your employment site that needs improvement. If you are not currently working, use one from a previous work experience.

Describe the problem process and address the elements below. This is a planning assignment so you will be looking at what needs to be done and who the players are. There is no implementation phase of this assignment.

Please limit this assignment to a total of 4-6 pages excluding Title and Reference page. Follow APA format strictly.

To do:

Introduction: Introduce the problem that needs to be improved. (25 points)
Identify a current work related problem that is from one of the  Institute of Medicines 6 areas of competencies: Patient Centered Care, Teamwork and Collaboration, Evidence-Based Practice, Quality Improvement, Safety and Informatics

Identify why and what is the process breakdown:  Clarify current unit/organizational knowledge of the problem process and any insight on how to improve the situation at hand.

Quality Improvement (QI) model: Identify and discuss a QI model (choose either Six Sigma or PDSA) to utilize. (25 points)

Discuss your chosen model.
Explain the process of implementing change and the importance of an outcome to measure.

Describe the inter-professional team that you would put together for this process improvement. Who (by title or position) specifically needs to be at the decision-making ‘table?’

Literature Review for EBP: Identify and analyze evidence found in peer-reviewed literature (i.e. go to e-library to find) that was shown to benefit this problem.  (25 points)
Synthesize a minimum of two (2) scholarly articles from current evidence-based literature findings that assist you in improving the problem.
Describe how you would plan to implement a QI improvement process.
Include the outcome to measure improvement.

  4.  Conclusion. (10 points)

Summarize your paper with a concluding paragraph.

Behavior Definitions

Before we can target behaviors, we have to understand how they are defined. In addition to understanding how behavior is defined in general, behavior analysts must always define targeted behaviors before data collection can begin on them.

Image your small business that produces very small remote-control aircraft capable of long sustained flights. You are ready to expand your business by competing for Department of Defense (DoD) contracts.
You already have added one (1) contract with the DoD worth over $600,000 to your expanding company and are now ready to venture into contracting for the Department of Homeland Security and other federal agencies.
Write a six to eight (6-8) page paper in which you:
1. Compare and contrast fixed-price contracts and cost-reimbursement contracts in terms of the benefits and drawbacks of each for your business.
2. Analyze at least three (3) opportunities your small business will have compared to large businesses in general.
3. Discuss which element(s) of cost-reimbursement contracts tend to produce the biggest troubles for your small business. Provide a rationale for your choice(s).
4. Determine which form of contracting would benefit your business the most among all the forms of contracting described in Chapter 16. Support your response.
5. Choose the most significant form of contracting that would support large companies (e.g., Boeing) among all the forms of contracting described in Chapter 16. Support your response.
6. Develop a plan on how your company would justify the government to award your company the contract when the form of this contracting supports larger companies.
7. Use at least three (3) quality academic resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and other Websites do not qualify as academic resources.

Compare and contrast fixed-price contracts and cost-reimbursement contracts.
Examine other contract types commonly used in federal contracting.

Discussion Board Forum Module/Week 5 — Education Policy

  

For each Discussion Board Forum assignment, you will interact in a free-flowing discussion of the biblical and constitutional parameters for the particular policy focus of the assigned module/week. These posts should be short and succinct (3-5 sentences at most per post) and should encourage greater interaction with your classmates. Thus, you are to post according to the following guidelines:

Biblical: One separate post (3-5 sentences) discussing Biblical principles such as natural law, inalienable rights, sphere sovereignty/covenant, the Sin/Crime distinction and the institutional separation of Church and State

Constitutional: one separate post (3-5 sentences) referencing the enumerated powers, Articles and Amendments from the Constitution which are relevant to the assigned policy area

There must be two separate posts. Both posts must focus on the general policy area for the assigned Module/Week. For instance, when the course module focuses on criminal justice, the Biblical post must focus on what the Bible says about what government may or may not do in fighting crime. Likewise, the Constitutional post must focus on what the Constitution says about what government may or may not do in fighting crime. Specific examples should be used and cited. 

Feel free to interact with your classmates, but for grading purposes, you will only need the two posts mentioned above.

1. the Bible,

2. relevant presentations and articles from Modules/Weeks 12 which focus on biblical and constitutional ideas, including the Biblical Principles of Government article, 

3. the required reading from the assigned module/week, and

4. any additional relevant sources that you would like to use.
