History Response Paper

My professor told me that 1) simply report on the primary source by using the source to answer the questions below. In your Response Paper, you can just list the questions as they are here and answer them in full sentences. For some of the sources, the answers will be, in part, in Foner’s introduction to the source.

a. What type of source is it [an interview, a diary entry, a painting, music, a public record (court document, census document, political document, treaty, etc.)]?

b. When was the source published or produced?

c. Motive:
–Who created the source and why?
–Who is the author and what is her or his place in society (explain why you are justified in thinking so)?
–Why do you think she or he wrote it? What evidence in the text tells you this?
–Who might be the intended audience? What evidence in the text tells you this?
–Does the author have a thesis or main point? What — in one sentence — is that thesis?

2) Next, you will include a paragraph that discusses the context of the source. As I’ve noted above, context is the circumstances that form the historical setting for an event, statement, idea, or source and the terms in which it can be fully understood and assessed. This can be found in the source itself, in the introduction to the source, and in Give Me Liberty!.

For example, if you were using “Olaudah Equiano on Slavery (1789)”, you would use Chapter 4 in Give Me Liberty! to discuss the Triangle Trade because that’s the context (the historical setting, backdrop, circumstances, etc.) in which Equiano’s narrative was written).

As with other Response Papers, this should be between 250-350 words.

The Pueblo Revolt (1680)

or

Adam Smith, The Results of Colonization (1776)

or

Nathaniel Bacon on Bacons Rebellion (1676)

or

Memorial against Non-English Immigration (1727)

or

Olaudah Equiano on Slavery (1789)

or

Advertisements for Runaway Slaves and Servants (1738)

or

The Trial of John Peter Zenger (1735)

or

The Great Awakening Comes to Connecticut (1740)

Remember to quote the source.

VI Project

Unit VI Project

Implementation Plan: Part 2

In Unit IV, you started to create an implementation plan. You selected a company and analyzed their strategy and mission. In Unit VI, we will continue your work with this company and develop a SWOT analysis.

Remember that a SWOT analysis identifies strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of an organization. This is an important analysis for any organization as it can be used for strategic planning. Your SWOT analysis must be a minimum of two pages in length. Once you have completed your SWOT analysis, write a minimum of one page, explaining how this information could be used by the company.

Please use the template below to complete the SWOT analysis and explanation. Save the template using your last name and student ID. For example, John Smith whose student ID is 12345 would save his assignment as Smith12345. The information you need to complete this analysis can be found in the case studies located in your textbook on pages 372- 636. Outside research is not a requirement.

Click here to access the Unit VI Project template.
Much of the information you will need to complete this segment can be found in the case study in the textbook. However,

you are welcome to conduct further research as needed.
Information about accessing the Grading Rubric for this assignment is provided below.

Psychology Module 1 # 4

Make an initial post (100 word minimum)  to EACH of the four discussion topics within the first two weeks of the beginning of the course.

2.  Students are required to make at least three reflective posts (100 word minimum) to the comments of other students.

You must begin by first stating I believe your main (basic)point was.  You may then proceed to discuss your viewpoint and advance or clarify you contribution to the discussion topic.

ADHD is a sort of mental condition that I believe now-a-days runs very common in children to the point where almost every hyper child is tested for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder or something of the like from a very young age. Personally, I believe that being under medication should be a choice to the individual themselves, unless their unmedicated behavior can directly and harmfully affect other people. In Alex’s case, it appears that his self-esteem suffered immensely, and his lack of attention to not only himself and his health but a lack of interest and ability to focus in school seemed to directly affect this as well. This lead to depression and very low self-esteem and his parents believed that ADHD medication would benefit him the most. It seemed to be effective, as it helped Alex get better not only mentally but also in school.

As for Robin, he was diagnosed very young and was on medication since the 4th grade, despite his vocalization that he did not like the drugs, his parents changed the medication and had him on it still. Robin began to become unhappy and unmotivated to the point where his parents hospitalized him. It affected him so much that his teachers didn’t know how to react around him. However, eventually, Robin refused to take his medication despite his mother’s best efforts.

I will only further reiterate my earlier opinion on the subject– I believe that medication should always be up to the person taking it, and that when it comes to medicating your children, I believe that proper communication between parent and child should be done to ensure that this is in fact in the child’s best benefit.

I believe a lot of problems start to steam at a very young age for most people. Alex issues come from in my eyes from not getting the proper attention he needed. He also lacked confidence and that can really tear someone down. They could get torn down from it, but from proper care he was getting from the people and medication I think could help the most and he needed that. It takes a long time for someone to start loving there self after not thinking they are enough to even live and that is reasonable. How ever long it takes you to get back on track should not matter.

Robins situation you cannot just think what worked for one chid could work for the next. You have to see if that child has even talked to someone about how he feels. Most of the time they just have a lot going on and just need to talk to someone about how they can get through. There home life may not be like the person before him. That also effects a person and the type of medication that he/she is on. You have more stress or anything slightly different than the other person that is on the same medication it can be thrown off. He also did not have the same support as Alex. If he actually talked to someone that specialized in disorders in mood swings and they felt like they could not help then think of other opinion, but medication should not be your first opinion. Most medication throws off everything else in the body, it do not just fix that one problem and that is it. It makes everything off balance and now you have new problems because you messed with one thing that could have went without medicine.
